the wedding was exactly one year away so today i was going out to shop for my wedding dress for the service.
this was the most important of the three wedding dresses i was to have.
honestly i was fine with one dress... even two dresses but it was tradition for my family to have three dresses on their big day. my gram, great gram, mother, aunts, cousins, everyone in my family had three dresses.
the first was for the service, then the dress for the dinner and first dance and then the last one for the reception.
i had tara, devyn and kat coming to look at dresses with me. alisa was coming as well and my mom and colbys mom, lisa had flown out to come along.
for the three dress tradition, it was also tradition for your mother to pay for the dinner dress, grandmother to pay for your reception dress and for your fiancé to pay for your service dress.
i didn't expect colby to pay for my dress. i had the full intention on paying for it but his mother insisted that she and steven paid for it as a wedding present to us.
lisa was the one paying for this dress. which i objected to for a very long time so i didn't want anything too pricey
we went through and everyone picked one dress for me to try on. for the service, i want a very princess dress

my first dress i tried on was chosen by lisa. it was a very simple white gown with lace arms. it was beautiful but i didn't feel like a princess.
"oh my! adelaide, you look beautiful!" lisa smiled
"i can't believe my baby is getting married!" my mom said, a few tears running down her face. i smiled at her.
"you're going to make the most beautiful bride." tara said.
i thanked them all and asked for opinions on the first dress. i knew it wasn't the dress but it didn't hurt to find out what everyone else thought.
"i like it but it's too plain for you." tara suggested.
"yeah... it doesn't look like your princess dress that you've always wanted." kat mentioned
"you look beautiful but i don't think the dress is your style." dev said, lisa and my mom agreeing.
