adelaides pov
september 8th (later in the day)

"roni, do you have michael from louis vuitton's number? maybe we can get mathews number or address from him." colby suggested.

"yeah... i can call his office." she told us.

everyone started their conspiracy theories about where adelaide was as i motioned colby to the kitchen.

he got up and followed me.

"colbs, do you think it's mathew as in the mathew who used to be our insane neighbor?" i asked him.

"i dunno ad. the fifteen year restraining order is over so he has nothing holding him back." colby said.

"that's what i was thinking." i said, a few tears falling down my face.

"hey, hey, stay positive. who knows... maybe her phone died and she's fine. you never know, babe." he said, pulling me into his chest.

"i love you. so much," i looked up at him.

"i love you too addi. so much." he chuckled. "we'll find her... don't worry." he told me, kissing my forehead.

i nodded as he held me to his chest. maybe i was making a big deal out of nothing. but i wanted nothing more than to hold my daughter in my arms right now.

"i'm going to go pick mason up from soccer early... are you okay here?" colby asked me.

"yeah... i'll text you with any updates." i told him.

"great. i love you... bye." he smiled, kissing me.

"i love you too." i mumbled as we pulled away.

he grabbed his keys off the counter and exited the kitchen.

i fixed myself up a bit before walking into the living room. i didn't want grayson and cartia to know i was scared.

"addi, michael gave me mathews number... i have a feeling he won't answer though, if he does have violet." roni told me. i swallowed deeply and nodded.

"i'll call." i told her.

the phone rang three times and then there was an answer.

"hello, adelaide." the evil voice i knew answered.

"mathew, where the fuck is my daughter?" i asked.

"she's with me... i'm shocked you didn't tellement about her that night at your apartment when i came over and met grayson. were you trying to keep her a secret?" he questioned

"what do you want from her?" i asked.

"do you remember that day in the elevator... when we were really close to each other... and then that fucker interrupted us?" he asked me.

"mathew, what do you want from us?" i asked, very upset since he was talking about when he groped me in the elevator and ariya stopped him.

"i want violet. and boy was it easy to get her here." he said. as he said her name, it felt like venom was shot through my veins. i would do anything for my baby.

"where the fuck are you?" i spit.

"liv had told me you'd be calling. said elena mentioned it to archie who mentioned it to his baby sister." he announced. that bitch.

"mathew, where are you?" i asked.

"a few days ago, violet was dancing around her room in her violet shorts and her little lacey top. she's a dead ringer of you, adelaide. or that day when she was out at the pool with that boyfriend of hers and she decided to make out with him. or that night she was shit faced on the beach and convinced all of her friends to skinny dip in the ocean with he-" i cut him off by hanging up. i knew he wouldn't tell me where they were. i couldn't sit there and listen to him say horrific things about my daughter.

i needed to find her.

mathews pov

"hey violet! howre you doing?" i asked her once i opened the door of the apartment to let her in.

"i'm great, and you?" she asked me.

"amazing." i smiled.

"is this your studio? it's amazing?" she asked, twirling around like a little princess.

"it is. it actually used to be my apartment and then i moved out towards malibu for my position at louis vuitton, even though they have me working in LA more often then there... but then i turned this into a personal studio." i explained to her.

"that's really cool." she smiled. "this looks just like the kitchen in my parents apartment when i was a baby. i've only ever seen pictures but it's really beautiful."

"you can go change in the bathroom." i said after a moment of silence. i pointed in the direction of the bathroom.

"okay." she smiled. i noticed she sent a text and then set her phone on the counter.

"i was thinking we could do the red dress first and then the black bodysuit." i requested.

"that works for me... i'll be back." she grinned, taking the dress to the bathroom with her.

she was making this too easy... leaving her phone on the counter and everything.

i picked it up, noticing she had a clear case on her violet iphone. there was a polaroid in the back of her, luke, ayla, grayson, verena and west. it looked like they were all at a party. i looked at her lock screen, seeing a picture of her and luke kissing in italy.

damnit, she has a password. i decided to try the first thing that came to mind.

5853. too easy. of course she would use luke's name as her password. i thought she'd be more clever then that.

her home screen was a picture of her and her friend group on the beach. i first opened her texts, noticing she had 243 notifications. most of them seemed to be from random guys that probably met her at parties or through social media. she had a text from ayla, asking what ice cream flavor she wanted for their little hangout with their friends the following night.

violet seems to be the ring leader of her friend group... she has everyone wrapped around her little finger. which reminded me of her mother.

there was a text from luke, commenting on how good she looks in a bikini. i scoffed at that. her parents had both sent her random messages as well as many notifications from her friend group.

i exited out of the app and opened life 360. she had it turned on for her little friend group so i quickly switched it to stop sharing location.

i heard the bathroom door unlock so i quickly locked her phone and set it exactly where she had it. i grabbed my camera and pretended that i was switching the settings.

"how does this look?" she asked me, biting her finger as she looked in the full length mirror that was in the room.

"absolutely stunning." i responded, making her smile. "shall we?" i asked while motioning to the white backdrop.

she nodded and moved over in front of it.

"do you mind if i play music? it gets me in the vibe to do shoots." she laughed.

"go for it." i told her.

she grabbed her phone and turned on a playlist. we got started with the shoot. it was already around 5pm so golden hour was approaching. i had the idea of getting dinner at 7 and then doing the second outfit so she'd have to stay later.

around six, her phone stopped playing music since it died.

"can i borrow a charger?" she asked.

"i'm afraid i don't have any iphone chargers here. sorry" i responded.

"oh it's fine." she smiled
