A/N - This chapter is based on the song 'Danger' by Jucee Froot. You may recognise it from the Birds of Prey soundtrack. It's not really got a pairing, but I just really love this song and wanted to write something to go with it.  I hope you all enjoy it.

There was no one in the world you loved going on missions with more than Nat. In fact, you'd often requested that the two of you could be partnered during the planning sessions. It had always been so exciting, the idea of a girls-only team of badasses, ready to take on the world together. The undercover missions were always the best. You would spend hours thinking up your characters together, working away until the plan was foolproof.

This mission was pretty simple. Infiltrate a party filled with Hydra operatives without being recognised and copy the data off of a computer in the homeowners office on the third floor. You could've done it in your sleep if you had wanted to.

You'd both gotten pretty dressed up, designer dresses and heels, your make up and hair flawless. It was your ticket in to the party. No one was going to stop a pair of pretty girls from walking straight in the front door, and in this situation hiding in plain sight seemed your best choice.

As soon as you were inside, the plan was put into action. The two of you split apart and you headed to the bar, you could survey the whole bottom floor from there, the open plan layout playing into your hand pretty effortlessly. Nat would head for the stairs, bypassing the security guard with a little bit of flirting.

Your eyes were running over the crowd as she worked her magic, a drink gripped firmly in your hand in an attempt to fit in with the other drunks lingering by the bar.

"I don't think we've been introduced," a deep voice began, drawing your attention away from the crowd to find a man standing beside you, his eyes giving you a quick once over. "I'm sure I would've remembered you," he continued, and you forced a coy smile onto your lips, the girlish giggle that dripped from your tongue feeling so unnatural to you.

"You're sweet," you uttered, your smile still playing on your lips.

He held out a hand, and you quickly accepted. "Wolfgang Von Strucker," he uttered, holding onto your hand for a moment too long.

"I know the name," you started softly. "I have to admit, I thought you would be older."

Wolfgang let out a snort of laughter at your comment. "And what is your name, my sweet?"

Your lips twitched at his question. "Where's the fun in that?" you teased, leaning back with your elbow on the bar as he raised an eyebrow at you. "Why don't you take a guess at who I am?"

A look of pure concentration came across his face and you took the moment to let your eyes run over the crowd again. Neither Nat or the guard were anywhere to be seen.

"Are you Gideon's girl?" Your eyes landed on him again, a small smile painted onto your lips as you shook your head. His smile faded slightly at that, his jaw tightening. "I don't like playing games," he murmured, and you teasing expression dropped immediately. "Tell me your name."

You swallowed around the lump in your throat. "Y/N."

"And who at this party do you know, Y/N?"

"I came with a friend-"

"Who?"

You flinched at the sharpness of his voice, glancing away from him for a moment, another man caught your attention. Brock fucking Rumlow. You cleared your throat. "Brock?" you called out, drawing his attention over to you and offering him a small smile. He was at your side a moment later, a smirk painting his lips.

"Don't take this the wrong way, sweetheart," he started, blissfully unaware of the Von Strucker standing right beside you. "I always thought you were a little too much of a goody goody to be real," he continued. "Should've known you were one of us."

Von Stucker cleared his throat, catching Brock of guard for a moment. "You know this young woman?"

"Y/N's one of the SHIELD girls. She's in pretty deep with the high ups." He paused for a moment.

You lifted your drink to your lips, taking a tentative sip before offering the two men a small smile. "Please excuse me for a moment," you started softly. "Bathroom," you added, touching Brock's arm lightly with a sweet smile before slipping away from the pair and into the crowd.

As soon as you were in the quiet of the bathroom, the door locked behind you, you pressed a finger to the communicator in your ear. "Nat, we're in deeper than I thought," you muttered. "We need to get out of here."

"What's happening?" her voice crackled through the ear piece. "I need another couple of minutes."

"There are SHIELD operatives here. Rumlow knows I'm here."

The silence that stretched out over the communicator was deafening. "I'll be quick. And then we go straight to Fury."

You nodded before realising your mistake. "Let me know when you're out."

"Will do."

You released a deep breath as you glanced at yourself in the mirror. This was a mess, and there was a chance it was only going to get a hell of a lot more messy.

A knock on the bathroom door caught you off guard, and you released a startled yelp. "One minute," you called out, only to be met with another, louder knock. "I said one minute," you repeated, reaching out to pull the chain in an attempt to make your cover look believable. You turned on the tap, forcing a smile onto your lips as the person on the other side knocked again.

You unlocked the door, opening it only to be met by Von Strucker, who shoved the door forward, pushing you back into the room and slamming the door behind him. His hand moved too quickly for you to catch, wrapping his long fingers around your throat and slamming you backwards into the wall. "Who else is here?" he growled, his face a little too close to yours for comfort.

You grabbed onto his hand, attempting to pry it off of your throat. "What are you doing?" you cried out, still attempting to keep your cover from slipping.

"If you were one of our agents, I would know you," he hissed, and suddenly the fearful expression dropped from your face, replaced with one of determination as you gripped his forearm and lifted your legs to kick against his chest, forcing him backwards and causing him to release your throat.

"Y/N, what's happening?" Nat's voice crackled through your communicator.

You released a small chuckle, rolling your shoulders as you readied for Von Strucker to come at you again. "I'm a little busy," you uttered back, a smile settling onto your lips as he made his first move, rushing forward and forcing you back against one of the counters. You quickly lifted your legs, locking them around his neck and twisting to flip him to the ground.  You pinned him, your knee resting against his throat. Pressing a finger to your ear piece you let out a soft sigh. "I've been compromised. Get out."

"Window or door?"

You let out a light chuckle. "Window."

"See you out front."

You slammed your hand down into Von Stucker's face, knocking him out before quickly regaining your composure, glancing in the mirror and offering yourself a small smile as you straightened out your dress. "I'll be seeing you," you murmured to the unconscious man beside you before climbing out of the window.
