Hey humans! So, for the first one of these, #8 (the one above) won! So, heere you go and enjoy! Italics are Connor singing

It was rare for Evan and Connor's English teacher to give them projects, but today was one of the times she had given them one.

The assignment was to write a one page paper on why they thought the jury decided Tom Robinson was guilty in their class book To Kill A Mockingbird, even though it was obvious he was not guilty. Evan, being a great writer, didn't have a problem with this until he found out they also had to read it aloud to the class.

So there he was, zoning out and bouncing his leg uncontrollably, waiting for the moment his name was called.

"Thank you, Kaylee, you can take your seat now. Next up, Evan, could you read your paper please?" Mrs. Canigula smiled sweetly.

Evan stood up slowly and made his way to the front of the class. He could feel his hands shake as his sweaty palms rubbed against the paper. He felt the stares burning him as he looked down at the ground.

"Umm, hi, I-I think that... that Tom was... was..."

His heart began to race. His mouth felt like it had just become a desert as he failed to get the words out. In a split second, he made his decision and ran out of the classroom and into one of the boy's bathroom stalls.

The kids in that class were some of the nicer ones, who had come to understand how bad Evan's anxiety was, but their understanding and patience didn't come easy.

The first time he ran out, they laughed at him, and Mrs. Canigula was having none of it. She had asked them how they would have felt if Evan had made fun of them for running out of class, even threatening if she ever saw or heard someone tease him for his anxiety, they would be serving detention.

After seeing his boyfriend flee the room, Connor looked at his teacher and raised his hand.

"Mrs. Canigula?" She nodded, knowing what he was going to ask.

Connor grabbed his messenger bag from the back of his chair and ran after his lover, knowing exactly where he was. He opened the boy's bathroom door and walked towards the stalls.

"Evan? Sweetheart? Are you in there?" He knocked, "I'm coming in, alright?"

He unlocked the door to find Evan crouched next to the toilet, trembling and wiping his nose with his arm. Connor sat across from him, making sure to give him space.

"Baby, hey, I'm here, it's okay, you're okay. Is touch okay?"

Evan shook his head rapidly but signed 'sorry' repeatedly after.

"No, Ev, you have nothing to be sorry about, if you aren't good with being touched yet, that's fine, I don't need to hold you to help you."

There was always one thing that helped Evan when he had a panic attack, and Connor knew that it would work like a charm. So, he started singing the words to River by Joni Mitchell, one of his favorite songs.

"It's coming down Christmas, they're cutting down trees, putting up reindeer, and singing songs of joy and peace. Oh, I wish I had a river, I could skate away on.

"But it don't snow here, it stays pretty green. I'm gonna make a lot of money, and I'm going to quit this crazy scene, oh I wish I had a river, I could skate away on."

As the song continued, Evan's tears started to dry up and his breathing began to match his lovers. Listening to Connor's angel-like voice helped clear his head and ease Evan's mind.

"Oh, I wish I had a river so long, I would teach my feet to fly! I wish I had a river, I could skate away on. I made my baby say goodbye~

"It's coming down Christmas, they're cutting down trees, putting up reindeer, and singing songs of joy and peace. Oh, I wish I had a river, I could skate away on."

"T-Thank you, Connor." He whispered, just loud enough for him to hear.

"Evan, you don't have to thank me for helping you through one of these, I would do it no matter what. Now, would you like to go back to class, or we can skip the rest of the day, we only have study hall and health left."

"Can we just go home?"

"Absolutely." He laughed, reaching out his hand slowly and allowing Evan to take it.

They strolled down the empty hallway and back outside their classroom. Connor had Evan stand outside as he informed Mrs. Canigula what had happened, and she gave him that night's homework.

"Alright, let's go to your locker, yeah?" Evan nodded as Connor wrapped his arm around the smaller boy.

School wouldn't be perfect for either of them, but when they were together, it was bearable, and even that was fine for them.

I didn't know how to end this but I hope you enjoyed! Let me know what picture I should do next in the comments! Love you all!!
