"Mom, can we talk? Please?"

Heidi was finally able to get a day off from work to spend with her son. Evan had been sitting at the kitchen island while she made them tacos for lunch.

"Sure, baby, what's up?" She asked, sitting on the stool next to him. He buried his hands in his soft, honey hair and looked away from her as he spoke.

"M-Mom, I'm... I'm bisexual."

Terror flooded Evan as Heidi stayed silent. He was worried that she would yell at him, or worse, kick him out.

"Evan, sweetheart," she reached out and touched his arm, "can you look at me?" He looked over at his mother with tears rolling down his cheeks. "Evan, baby, don't cry, please don't cry. It's okay that you're bisexual, I don't care."

"You... You don't?" He sniffed.

She laughed. "Of course not, sweetie! I'll always love you, no matter what. You are my precious baby boy and nothing could ever change that." She paused, wrapping her arms around Evan and rubbing up and down his back. "And Ev, I just want you to know how very proud I am of you. I may not have ever done it, but I know coming out to people takes courage and you were very brave to tell me."

"Thanks mom." He smiled. The two remained silent until Evan was ready to tell her the other part of the news. "Mom, y-you know Connor?"

"Hmm, let me think. If you mean that boy whose been your best friend for almost thirteen years, I think I've heard you mention him once or twice."

"Yeah, that Connor. Well, me and him are... are umm..."

"Take your time." She cooed.

"We're together."

Heidi covered her mouth with her hand in surprise. "Oh, baby, I'm so happy for you!"

"You are?" He smiled.

"Oh my god, of course! Evan, honey, even if it wasn't a romantic kind of love, he always loved you. Connor would do anything for you, we could all see it. I'm just so, so happy that you've found someone." She wiped away a stray tear.

"Yeah. Thanks mama."

"Of course. Now, how about you invite Connor over for dinner one day so I can talk to my future son in-law. I haven't seen that boy in ages."

"Mom," he blushed, "how do you know we're gonna get married."

"Because, maybe you guys haven't said it yet, but he loves you and he's not going anywhere."

Evan leaned on his mother's shoulder. "I love you, mom."

"I love you too, baby, no matter what."
