Jiro is now on his way to the cafeteria to grab some lunch, he was famished. But his steps suddenly came to halt when he walked past the glass door entrance that could see through the lobby, where the registration table is.
He decided to stop and check his plus-one if she's okay. Since he somehow invited her, he felt she was his responsibility. If she hasn't eaten yet, maybe she needs someone to eat with or if she forgot the time as she too like him, is a workaholic, he felt obliged to remind her.

But to his surprise, all his worries were for nothing. She's comfortable eating her lunch while listening to Dave attentively.

He just smiled and then continued walking to the cafeteria.
"This girl. She's like a chameleon, knows how to blend in. Not a damsel in distress..."
Then he remembered something and chuckled, "except for needles." then he made light steps as he went to get his packed lunch.
