As they finally settled inside their tents, Jiro heard her voice from her end.
"Ji?" She asked just enough for him to hear.
"Hmm?" He replied simply as he moved closer to the entrance of the tent.
"It was nice to meet another side of you. This time, the good doctor and the good son Jiro."
"Same. It's an honor to meet the brave and pretty Architect Kei." He said it with a smile. Then he heard her chuckle.
"Good night, Jiro."
He was about to answer when,
"Good night, Kei. Good night, Jiro. Good night, self. Good night to the world. Okay? Now, keep quiet and sleep." Dean suddenly rebutted. Jiro heard Kei say "Oops" then chuckled.
And the Osmeña peak campers slept peacefully under the cold breeze of February.
Just like Jiro and Kei, the other's spared their weekend for this trip to escape their daily endeavours as adults. It was a tiring day for them but it was worth it. Their energy died down just like the embers of the bonfire.
Yet a peaceful sleep is enough to recharge them not just for tomorrow's sunrise, but for the week ahead once they get back to their realities.
