March 4th - Prompt: Train

--------------

"You're the best swordfighter in Narnia Ed." Peter told his brother, who was laying in a bed in the healers wing, a nasty gash going across his leg.

Edmund frowned at him. "How am I?" He murmured. "It was so easy for them to cut me, they would've killed me if you hadn't stepped in."

Peter sighed. "I distracted you Ed." He breathed. "And I'm sorry. Also, you're tired from all the work you've been doing lately, it was only understandable that you were a little off."

Edmund only sighed, not saying anything as he glared down at his leg.

Peter too was silent for a little while, before sighing. "Ed look, you have trained so, so hard, so hard that you have become the best swordfighter in Narnia, even Orious says so."

Edmund perked up a little at this. "He does?" He asked.

Peter laughed. "He does." He told him. "Now come on, you just had an off day, I know for a fact you're much better at swordfighting, everyone does."

Edmund gave him a small smile, before taking a deep breath. "Maybe you should train as much as I do and you might have a chance of beating me in a match." He grinned.

Peter raised an eyebrow. "If I had the time to train every day like you do-"

"I don't train every day." Edmund told him.

"Well, if I had the time to train as much as you did I would." Peter corrected. "But I do unfortunately have other stuff to do."

Edmund shrugged. "Eh, there's only a slim chance you'd be able to beat me anyway." He teased.

Peter smirked. "You're probably right though." He chuckled.

Edmund smirked back at him. "You reckon you could find me something to eat?" He asked.

Peter rolled his eyes playfully. "I suppose so." He answered.

Edmund raised an eyebrow. "I can't exactly do it myself." He said. "You'd kill me if I left this bed."

Peter nodded in agreement. "Alright, I'll find you something to eat." He said, standing.

"Thanks." Edmund breathed.

Peter smiled gently. "Everyone has off days Ed." He reminded him. "Don't beat yourself up about it."

Edmund smiled at him and slowly nodded, taking a deep breath. "I won't." He breathed. "Now hurry, I'm really hungry."

Peter chuckled, shaking his head in amusement before heading off in search of some food for his brother.
