April 13th - Prompt: Wine

-------------

"Hellooooooo."

Edmund raised his eyebrow, turning to face his older brother who had walked up to him where he stood on the balcony. "Hi." He replied, fighting a smirk.

Peter sighed warmly and leant against the stone railing, a cup clasped in his hands as he stared out across the horizon. "Had enough of the party?" He asked with a grin.

Edmund shrugged. "Just needed some fresh air." He told him, staring at him.

Peter chuckled. "How dare you leave my birthday party because you need some fresh air." He mocked.

"I'll go back in a minute Peter." Edmund said, sounding amused.

Peter laughed and took another mouthful of whatever was in his cup. "You better." He muttered.

Edmund again raised an eyebrow. "Perhaps you've had enough wine Peter." He said, trying to keep back his smirk.

Peter looked offended. "Don't be silly." He said. "That's nonsense."

Edmund looked away to hide a smile. He knew Peter wasn't drunk, course he wasn't, but he'd perhaps just had one cup too many. "I know it's you're 18th Peter." He said after a moment. "But Susan's gonna kill you if you drink anymore."

Peter rolled his eyes. "I'm old enough now." He said with a shrug. "Not that there's really any age restrictions in Narnia anyway."

"I know that, I've drunk before." Edmund said. "But just because you're 18 now doesn't mean you can get drunk."

Peter raised an eyebrow and turned to face him. "I am not drunk." He said. "I never have been and I never will be."

Edmund believed that actually. While he reckoned Peter would have one too many on more than one occasion, he didn't believe Peter would ever get drunk, it just wasn't like him. "I know." He said. "Anyways it's getting late so it's probably not a good idea to drink anymore."

Peter hesitated. "You're probably right." He breathed, before finishing off the cup and grinning. "Okay, no more."

Edmund smirked. "You've definitely had one too many." He teased.

Peter rolled his eyes. "Oh shut up."
