You were standing on the observation deck on the Enterprise with your boyfriend, Wesley. Today was your first date and you were very nervous. Wes suggested something small like, going to the observation deck and talking, having dinner.

The two of you had sat down at a table and gotten your food. Neither of you had ever been on a a date before, so this was new. You didn't know what to say.

"So, how was your day?" Wes asked, trying to make conversation.

"Good." You answer, looking down at your food.

"You work near the warp core right? The Captain won't let me NEAR that. What's it like? I'm allowed on the bridge and I'm sometimes allowed to work in engineering, but that's it." Wes said. He looked down the instant he realized he was rambling.

"Yeah, your not missing out on much. It can get pretty boring, especially when your just an assistant." You explain, trying to make him feel better about not being able to work there.

"Oh, okay." He muttered before going back to his meal.

"How was your day?" You ask.

"Fine. I made a mistake and the Captain yelled at me for a while. I just left after that. It made me feel better when I remembered I had a date with a beautiful girl." He said, smiling up at you.

"Awe, thank you. I couldn't wait for our date either, but I'm glad you asked me out." You answer, starting to blush. The two of you say in silence for a while, until you finished your meal.

There were four couches on the observation deck. You two took one of them. You sat next to Wes, feet up on a table, looking at the stars. He put his arm around you, causing you to move closer.

"Looking at the stars seems so much better with you." Wes said, holding you tighter.

"Agreed." You reply, moving even closer to him.

Beverly Crusher walked onto the observation deck. She saw her son and a girl, cuddling on the couch. All she could do was smile and leave. She didn't want to disturb her sons first date.

Authors note:

So, I've been updating a little less. I've been writing the next chapter to my book After Death (which I published a new chapter to today, so I should be updating more.) Next one is Chekov.
