The sound was annoying. The tapping pattern your husband was making with his fingers. You were sitting in the room to get an ultrasound. The tension between you two had been a lot because you had been moody lately. His constant tapping wasn't making it any better.

"Pavel." You finally ask, looking at him.

"Yeah," he replies, looking at you. He was still tapping his fingers. He would hit four of them in a row on the bed, then tap his index finger as a repeat.

"Have you ever been around anyone pregnant before?" You ask, glaring at him.

"Yes," he answered, continuing to tap.

"When you were with them, were you ever this annoying?" You say, continuing to glare.

"Sorry." He answered, stopping to tap. "I'm just nervous you know. First kid ever."

"I'm nervous too. Probably more than you. But everything will go well, I just know it." You say, holding his hand. You could tell he was going to start tapping again and that could NOT happen.

"Thanks." Pavel says just as a nurse walks in.

The nurse explained everything to you before she put the gel on your stomach. She pointed out every part of the baby. "Would you like to know what it is?" She asked.

"Yes." The two of you answer quickly.

"It looks like a girl." The nurse said. Pavel looked shocked. He sat back in the chair.

"I'll leave you two alone for a minute." The nurse said, cleaning the gel.

"It's a girl." You mutter.

"It's a girl." Pavel mutters, starting to cry.

Sorry it was short. I'm sitting a car dealership bored out of my mind. Summer break is here so I should be updating a little more. I do have summer school, Physical Therapy, and volunteering. I guess I'll see how this works out. Whether it be more or less, but I'm shooting for more.
