"Eugene"

Eugene turned around when he heard his name and saw Rosa.

He asked,

"What is it?"

Rosa looked at him then at the carriage which was now empty,she couldn't help but be amazed at Eugene's strength.

"You're done?What about the big one?Did you carry it on yourself?"

Eugene scratched his cheek and answered Rosa.

"No,you said I can ask for some help so someone help me."

When Rosa heard this she couldn't help but frown,weren't all the servants called to the palace and only a newbie like Eugene was not?

Thinking of this she asked to confirm something.

"What's his name?"

She didn't tell Eugene about the summon not because she doesn't want to but only because Eugene might get confused if she told him.

"I don't know,I forgot to ask."

Saying this Eugene couldn't help but also scratched his head and awkwardly let a 'hehe' laugh.

Rosa nodded and didn't ask anymore after all the guy who helped might just be a new one too.

"Follow me, I'll guide you to the quarters."

The two then started to walk,just like earlier Eugene was behind.

The quarters are where the servants had their own room to sleep,here there are no rankings at all.

Every room had the same design,same furniture and same space.

You can't use your position just to get something more. All servants are equal and the positions only needed when it was about work.

As the two walked on the hallway the sun was about to set and the sky was already getting dark.

Cold breeze passed by them that made Eugene shiver from the cold,because his clothes were too thin and it was near autumn.

After how far the two walk and time passed Eugene was now lying on a soft bed,he covered himself with a quilt and stared at the ceiling until drowsiness engulfed him.

Taking a good night's sleep and when he woke up Rosa knocked on his door and gave him a pack of clothes and told him.

"After you wash, go to Mirvana,she'll tell you what would be your daily task."

Must be the uniform of the servants,Eugene took it and said thank you then closed the door.

After half an hour of washing himself,wore the clothes, went outside,locked the room then left.

Walking in a spacious hallway Eugene was excited on his first day of work!

He asked someone where Mirvana was and happily went there.

When he reached his destination which was behind the kitchen he suddenly stopped in his steps and stared at the guy who was talking with Mirvana.

Why does the guy seem familiar?Where did I see him?

And

Before he finished what he was thinking he got dumbstruck when he remembered.

That's it!!The guy who helped him yesterday!

When he thought about this Eugene continued to walk towards them.

The guy and Mirvana noticed his presence and waited for him.

When Eugene was now beside them,Mirvana opened her mouth to speak but Eugene's words interrupted her.

"Thank you for your help yesterday,may I know your name?By the way, I'm Eugene."

He excitedly said and lent his right hand to the guy.

Dumbfounded,Mirvana was ready to scold Eugene but she choked when she saw the guy hold Eugene's hand,shake it then also introduce himself.

"Riel,and you're welcome."

Riel smiled slightly which made Mirvana's jaw drop.

His smile can blind people,Eugene suddenly wants to cover his eyes by the brilliance of the guy in front of him.

He let go of the guy's hand and turned his attention to Mirvana. who had a dumbfounded expression on her face.

"Rosa told me to go here to know my job,Ms.Mirvana."

Mirvana quickly returned her expression to normal like it didn't happen and picked up a paper from the pocket of her clothes then gave it to Eugene.

Cleaning the hallway.

Washing the dishes.

Delivering the food stocks that needed to the kitchen from the storage room.

Eugene read what was written on the paper and when he finished he gazed at Mirvana and said thank you before saying goodbye to her and Riel then walked away.

When Eugene's figure was no longer in the guy's sight his smile faded and look at Mirvana which made the head maid tremble.

"Remember what I told you."

He coldy said and Mirvana couldn't help but swallow a mouthful of saliva before responding.

"Yes,I'll remember."

It took a minute before the guy turned away his gaze and started to walk away and to follow behind Eugene.

The pressure of the guy was gone and Mirvana immediately sighs in relief and can't help but feel pity on the other.

What did that boy do which made him become his target?

She just hopes the boy won't live a messy life in this place.

The boy she was pitying was now holding a cloth while carrying a bucket of water.

His job was simple but hard,it was to clean the hallway just by only using a piece of cloth.

He didn't know if mop existed here so he didn't have a choice but to crouch down,put the cloth on the bucket water to make it wet, then he squeezed the water. After that he started to wipe the floor using it.

The hallway was quiet,Eugene was alone cleaning the hallway when the quiet atmosphere suddenly got crushed when he heard a familiar voice behind.

"Hey,need help?"

Eugene looked behind him and saw Riel was there,walking towards him.

Riel reached where Eugene was and also crouched beside him,Riel asked.

"You're cleaning the hallway with just that?It will take you a day before wiping this whole path clean."

Eugene shrugged and continued his cleaning.

"I don't have a choice,there's no other tools to use to make it fast."

After Eugene spoke this Riel suddenly grabbed his wrist and made him stand up and suddenly dragged him somewhere.

"Where are we going?"

"Shhh I know a place where we could get the tools we need."

When Eugene heard this he shut his mouth and didn't ask anymore.
