Chapter 73: Cursed Energy II [Adumfor Arc II]

A month has passed, just like that.

Elaina walked to the arena that was used during the festival challenges last year... She arrived as Vlad, UltraX & Isabella along with few guards and the parents of Elaina, Ultra and etc. Now she stood infront of Elijah Kanomato, he was having a devilish grin on himself.

Both took a fighting stance and looked at each other, preparing for the worst and praying for the best. Elaina hoped that her cursed energy training will help her defeat Elijah without too much trouble.

Isabella: Begin!

Elijah already was infront of Elaina and punched her in the face and then kicked her on the ground and then grabs her and throws her up...

Elijah: Cursed Energy ~ Shadow slash!

Within that he used his right arm as a sword in a way sending a slash which hit Elaina and sended her back away as she hits the wall... After that she gets up and Elijah just stands there, grinning. Elaina and the others were surprised.

UltraX: When did he learn that?

Isabella: I don't know, but that move seems to be custom made... It's not in any of the Adumfor Cursed energy moves book for Cursed energy moves 101.

Elaina seemed to have taken way less damage then Elijah expected, her endurance must've increased during the time that has passed. Then she prepares her three knuckle claws on both of her hands and infuses them with cursed energy.

Elaina: So, this is how it is gonna be? It seems you have learned something that you shouldn't have, Kanomato!

Elijah was already infront of her again, he was moving faster then usual... However, this time Elaina managed to block one of the attacks and then dodges the second and hits Elijah in his left arm in the process, her three knuckle claws vanish and she grabs him and throws him back a little and that follows with a cursed energy ~ barrage and the final move is a kick which sends Elijah back a little, but not as far as he picked up the pace and both fought with each other countering or parrying their own attacks or straight up clashing... It was obvious, they were powering up with the more clashes they did.

UltraX: They are powering up, but how high are their threat levels in a powered up state?

Vlad: I don't know, I never seen Elaina power up this high before...

Of course, X had his admin access console up reading the stats of both as they progressed the battle with more aggressive power that the ground started to shake a little as they clashed and tried to barrage each other with them clashing their fist with every hit, until Elaina summoned a cursed energy orb at her right hand and hit Elijah in the chest, which led to him being knocked back and he hit the wall hard. He quickly recovers and dodges a cursed energy blast and then runs towards Elaina, he jumps at her and she dodges, but only to be met with a kick in the back and she quickly blocked the next attack and both backed off  from each other.

Vlad: Damn, they just can't land a long combo or just a combo in general.

UltraX: Yeah, this is bad for both of them. If they just continue hit the knockback to wall or just clash for most of the time, block and back off... it will be a tie.

They run against towards each other and clash again. Both of them continue to fight and Elijah uses his electricity to give a control shock to Elaina, but that fails as she dodges and grabbed his head and slams him against the ground and then let's go quickly dodging a blind lighting strike and he gets up quickly and runs towatds her, she runs towards him too and they start to land a few solid hits against each other before clashing again.

This time it felt like the tides were turning as Elijah started to combo Elaina for a bit, but she escapes in the last second and kicks him back and now she runs towards him and jumps him attempting to punch him, but he blocks one of the punches and dodges the other and then he bites her left arm and then backs off and kicks her back.

Elaina: Ow-!

Elaina felt like her left arm was stunned and she couldn't use it... (For set period, probably short stun or medium stun)

Elijah: Haha, now...

Elijah turns into electricity and reappears infront of Elaina with imbued electric right fist and punches her hard and then barrages her and punches her in the head and then kicks her back. Before she could catch her breath, Elijah was already infront of her again and this time he starts with a 3 punch combo hit and then 2 kicks which proceed in her being send in the air and then he proceeds to jump the air. (Boosted by cursed energy and electricity and he does some interesting kick that lands on Elaina while he was holding chains which he ties her up and then uses the electricity manifestation to give her a huge shock and then he uses the chains one last time to throw her down from the air and then he makes the chains vanish and he lands and runs towards her attempting to grab her, but she gets up and quickly dodges the grab and kicks Elijah back a bit away.

She holds her left arm, knowing that it is not stunned anymore. However, she knew that he is able to do a lot more with cursed energy, when did he have the time to learn?

Elaina proceeds to create a cursed energy orb again and aims it towards Elijah.

Elijah: You think you're weak orb is gonna hit me-?

Elijah turned to see she was gone, but then he realises she was next to him and Elaina hits him in the face with the cursed energy orb, after letting go it sticks onto him and then she backs away quickly. Elaina summons another and throws it at him, he dodges it, but without him realising the orb she threw came back and hits the one that was put on him and causes a small explosion on him and sends Elijah back and he hits the wall again, but this time he quickly gets up.

Elijah: Such a small explosion, but such an impact... 

Elijah coughs a bit of blood.

Vlad: It's actually surprsing she was able to keep up with him, but hey X.

UltraX: Yeah?

Vlad: Did you come up with any theory or idea how Elijah gained Cursed Energy?

UltraX sighs and rubs his head for a bit to think more of an response, but the fight continues as Elijah ran towards Elaina, but this time he ran faster, Elaina did power up more before he moved, but he is still the same after the first power up...

Then Elaina summons a bunch of cursed energy orbs and shoots all of them at him, he proceeds to dodge all of them with incredible speed and then he jumps in the air, but he seems to be walking like there is platforms there and then he created a electric spear and threw it down at her, but the spear clashes with an cursed energy orb and then she backs away from the place as Elijah follows and then appears infront of her and kicks her in the head, grabs her and hits her with his wrist and then barrages her and then 2 punch combos her and then he continues to barrage her and then a finisher kick which sends her back against the wall harder then before, causing a small wave of cursed energy being released and a small earthquake. Elijah backs away a little walking back to the middle and stands in a different pose, Isabella could be feel that he is powering up to finish Elaina. She quickly gets off the wall and she was powering up as well and walked towards Elijah.

Elijah: You seem quite hungry for more beating, right?

Elaina: You really don't know how to be quiet, do you?

Elijah then proceeds to do what she does as both walked towards each other in a menacing way.

UltraX (whispers): Well Vlad, I believe he only mastered it for a month, just 2-3 extra days more than Elaina, the way he did it was sneaking into Adumfor's secret location for cursed energy training.

That did surprise Vlad, but they all looked down on the battlefield as Elijah unleashes an electric web and runs towards Elaina.
