Golden Freddy is unique, in the sense that he can't walk around like the other animatronics since he has no endoskeleton. So he instead has supernatural powers to teleport. As he and the entire building is haunted. Despite being a popular character, he doesn't appear much in the entire FNAF franchise. He is assumed to be an old FredBear suit that never got used. It is unknown if he is a springlock suit. Fun fact: His name was originally just "Yellow Bear" but the name, "Golden Freddy" was popularized and made canon in FNAF 2. Because Freddy is a light shade of brown, sometimes players can confuse him and Golden Freddy, especially in the movie.

Golden Freddy appears at any night, he is a rare character. If you go to the west hall corner camera, he will rarley replace the Freddy picture with a picture of himself, and then he will sit in your office as he glitches your screen, if you pull up the monitor, he will disappear, if you don't, he will kill you. He also appears when you type, "1987" into the custom night on each character. This isn't for a lore reason, it's just because people thought there would be a secret if you did that, but Scott wanted it to be clear there is no secret cutscene, so he put the Golden Freddy jumpscare.

FNAF 3:
Golden Freddy is implied to be in this game but he isn't. Like the other animatronics, it can be assumed that he followed Purple Freddy and then got dismantled by Afton, as his spirit is loose. Also his eye lights are seen in the Bad Ending, in the shadows.

Golden Freddy is not in this game, although the FredBear plush and Nightmare FredBear resemble him.

Golden Freddy is not on the character select screen, nor can he kill you, but he appears when you get a high score of 9800, in which it shows a cutscene of him twitching with eerie music playing.

Golden Freddy is made of actual gold in this game, and he can stand up. He has skins, those being: Great Escape Golden Freddy and FredBear.
FNAF: Security Breach:
While Golden Freddy may not technically be in this game, the Golden Glamrock Freddy plush is referred to as, "Golden Freddy."
