History:
Millie's Grandfather is never named. But he appears in Count the Ways. While Millie's parents are on vacation, he takes care of her. He is a kind man and struggles to keep Millie happy, but he still loves her. At the end of the book, he waits for Millie to come back from her walk, but she never does.

History:
Millie's parents never technically appear but during the book, they are on a business trip. In the small town they live in, they are seen as weirdos which Millie doesn't like cause now she's associated with them. When Millie is about to die, she misses them and wishes she went on the trip with them.
