"Dante, hold on—!"
There wasn't any time for Nate to stop him, since before he even had the chance to step in front of him, Dante had already lunged towards Lucius, pulling back his fist before aiming directly for Lucius' jawline. Before it could collided, Lucius dodged his punch, and instead of colliding his knee with the unprotected ribs of Dante, he instead stepped to the side and let Dante's own force propel him forward. Lucius had no intention to fight him.
Matter of fact, he was in the wrong, and beating up someone because they were defending their relationship wouldn't be right, even for him.
However, that didn't mean Dante was going to stop. Before Lucius could distance himself enough, Dante pulled back his elbow and aimed it at the side of his face, which almost landed but Lucius' reflexes were way too great to be hit by one of those sneaky attacks.
"Dante, please listen to me." Nate finally placed himself in between the two, raising his hands and stopping Dante from lunging towards Lucius again.
"You two were making out again!" Dante screamed in disbelief, glancing towards Lucius whose face was completely blank. "I came here to fix things with you but you decided to get with Lucius the same day that I left?!"
"No, that's not what this is," Nate attempted to explain, but Dante wasn't even staring at him anymore.
He pointed to the door and snarled, "Lucius, step outside, I'm denting your face in."
"If you really want to fight, I would be happy to," Lucius snickered, "but you probably want to listen to him first. Nice costume, by the way."
"I'm not listening to any excuse of your cheating—"
"I'm doing what you asked me to do!" Nate shrieked, his eyes filling with tears and his eyebrows coiling as he glanced towards Lucius for a second before returning his focus on Dante. "You told me that I should've pulled away if I had no feelings for Lucius, and you're right. You asked me to figure out my feelings, and that's what I'm trying to do."
"By kissing him?"
"Yes!" Nate sighed, shrugging his shoulders helplessly. "The kiss was what caused all of this! I don't know what else to do! I don't fucking know!" His fingers gripped his own shirt, his nails digging near his skin as he shrieked, "I want to find out myself why I didn't pull away, because I love you and I hate being without you but I just don't know why I didn't pull away, and I don't know why I didn't dodge it."
It seemed as if Dante was finally listening, seeing the rawness behind Nate's features, as if he was hopelessly doing the best he could but couldn't sort his own thoughts. Dante felt partially guilty, shoving all these possibilities into Nate's mind that he himself no longer knew what was true.
"I wanted to see how I feel being intimate with him, that's one way of figuring it out, right?" Nate shrugged his shoulders with uncertainty; he appeared frightened. "It wasn't to cheat on you at all. I love you Dante, and I'm doing this because I love you so much and I want answers just as much as you." He paused for moment, inhaling sharply as he quickly wiped the tears that fell on his cheeks. "I-If you have any other way to get answers, then I'll do it, I'll do anything, I just..." he swallowed hard, "...I thought this would help figure us out."
Dante glanced towards Lucius who was uneasily scratching the side of his face; it was clear he wanted to know as well. If this was going to finally solidify what relationship they had, and put to bed any conspiracies about their feelings and romance.
"Holy shit, why do you two always have to be so fucking complicated?" he exhaled exhaustively, shaking his head as he planted both his palms on his hips and began pacing back and forth. "First, it was bathing and cuddling at night. You two were already walking on thin fucking ice with me," Dante snapped at Nate who flinched. "For five years, there was absolutely nothing, and all of a sudden, you two meet again and everything goes haywire."
Neither of them said anything; Lucius folded his arms behind Nate who fidgeted with his thumbs.
They were both confused when Dante left the room for a moment, grabbing a chair from the dining room and returning to the living room. He sat down and folded his arms, crossed his legs and narrowed his eyes towards the both of them.
"Go on, then."
Nate frowned, glancing towards Lucius who also appeared confused.
Until Dante added, "Sleep together."
There was a silence that engulfed them, all of the heart rates spiking instantly. Nate felt as though he couldn't breathe anymore as he gasped, "Sleep together?"
Lucius' eyes widened excitedly. "You don't have to tell me twice."
"Hold on," Nate shrieked in a panic, his eyes returned to Dante's narrowed ones who hadn't budge. He even lifted his chin, as if he was a judge about to critique their act; his face stayed tightened and serious. "Dante, are you doing this because you're mad?"
"Yes, I'm doing this because I'm annoyed that you two always have some weird sexual tension that never got resolved," Dante growled nastily at Nate, leaning forward in his seat. "The only reason I'm allowing this is because it's my brother, and you've helped him quite a bit so I understand why his feelings are confused."
"My feelings are not confused, prince," Lucius commented.
"B-But..." Nate was still anxious about this.
It wasn't helping that both of them had strong dominating piercing gazes, the bright golden ones of Lucius scrutinizing him as if he was a piece of delicious steak, while Dante light grey ones stayed narrowed, but so bright as if there was a flashlight on him. Plus, the fact that even though Dante was seated, he was reaching Nate's shoulders, still made his presence feel overwhelming; he felt as if two hungry wolves were surrounding him.
"We were...j-just going to...kiss," Nate stammered, glancing between the two of them. He was still uncertain whether Dante was being genuine or if this was a trick question.
But Dante's eyes only narrowed even more and he puffed out his chest. "But then, I promise you, in a year or two, you'll wonder how sex would feel with each other and it'll cause more problems and complications. And trust me, next time," his hands clenched under his folded arms, "I won't be so understanding. I want you both to figure it all out now so go on," he waved his hand for them to hurry, "have sex."
Another silence surfaced; both of them were confused with the chair and why Dante stayed seated.
Until Dante lifted his chin, narrowed his eyes and revealed, "I'll be watching from here the whole time."
