Remus' POV

"I was right," I mutter under my breath.

"What did you just say, mate?" Sirius questions me.

"I said that I was right. She just told me who her mum is and that's who I was guessing," I explain to them.

"Well then, who is it?" James exclaims and somehow pushes Sirius off the couch who lands with a yelp.

"I'm not sure if I should tell you. I mean she did say that she thought she should tell us because she is Marauder. Well, not quite, she needs to be initiated first. But I guess I can tell you as long as you don't make it a big deal when she wakes up," I determine out loud. "Remember this is a secret, you can't tell anyone."

"Just tell us already mate!" Peter yells at me.

"She is Minnie's daughter," I say quietly so no one can over hear us. Apparently I didn't have to worry about them saying anything because they were speechless.

"How did you all not realize that she was her daughter? First of all, Minnie took an extra long time talking to Mack before Mack came to the table. Second, Minnie watched us the whole time to make sure we were treating Mack good. And last but not least, they look practically identical except Mack has gorgeous blue eyes," I finish and look down at Mack. She is so pretty with chocolate brown hair that brushes against her shoulders. She is super light and it's not uncomfortable holding her. I reach down and brush her hair off of her face.

"Ahem," coughs James.

I look up suddenly, "What?"

"Looky here Prongs, I think that our Moony fancies something other than his books," Sirius teases.

"I do not fancy Mack!" I exclaim.

"Oh yes you do. You are looking at her like she is perfect, and acting like she is precious and fragile. Also you have already given her a special nickname," James points out.

"I just met her. I do not fancy her. I mean, yes she is beautiful but i need to get to know her before I could say I fancy her," I tell them.

"So you do fancy her then," Peter concludes.

"No because we both know it isn't going to happen. I'm a monster," I whisper. "And that's final."

"Okay Moony," Sirius teases.

"We will drop the subject of Mackenzie after one question," James says carefully.

"And what question is that?" I glare back.

"What are you going to do with her now that she is asleep? We can't wake her up and send her into the girls dormitories because all the girls are asleep. Also, we can't go up there because of the magic staircase," he explains softly.

"She can sleep in my bed, I will make a bed on the floor to sleep on," I tell them. "Why don't we go up there now? Then we won't have to worry about someone overhearing our plans," James exclaims.

James jumps up and runs out of the room with Peter right behind him. Sirius looks at me funnily. It's like he wants to ask me something. Whatever it was mustn't have been important because instead he takes the book out of my hands and turns for the stairs. "Do you got her?" he asks.

I lift her up easily and walk to the bottom of the stairs, "Yup! Are you coming?" I ask as I head up to our dorm on the fifth floor of the tower. We have a plaque on our door that has "The Marauders" and all of our names written on it. Soon we will have to add Mackenzie's name though. I walk in and go to lay Mackenzie down on my bed but Peter grabs my arm and tries to yank me down to the ground to sit with them. He makes me almost drop her so I send him a sharp scowl. Since they seem impatient I put Mackenzie down on the closest bed to me which happens to be James' and then I tuck the red comforter all around her. I lay down on the floor and soon the other Marauders are coping me so we are all laying on our stomachs in a circle looking at each other.

"So what are these plans we need to talk about?" I say slowly after checking that Mack is sound asleep.

"Okay, so we all already agreed so no matter what you say this is happening. We discussed this while you and Mackenzie were reading," James says carefully.

"We are going to become animagi so then we can join Moony every month," Sirius exclaims.

"WHAT?" I screech. "HAVE YOU GONE ABSOLUTELY INSANE?"

"Well, it's a good thing our door has the Muffliato spell on the door so no one can hear us in here," James mutters.

"Absolutely not. That is not happening," I glare at them.

"Too late because we are going to be doing that," Sirius glares back. "We hate seeing you come back torn up because Moony doesn't like being shut inside. If we become animagi we can bring him into the Forbidden Forest and you won't be hurt anymore."

"I may not be hurt as much but what about you all? I could easily kill one of you and I wouldn't even know I did that when I woke up. It is way too dangerous," I tell them.

"Remus, we are Gryffindors. It is our job to be the brave ones in the school. We are going to do this to make it better for you. How about we make a deal? If we get hurt incredibly bad, then we will stop going with you on your monthly adventures," James says calmly while holding his hand out for me to shake. He is being the thoughtful thinking one tonight.

I think about it for a few minutes then shake his hand saying, "I only agree if you all agree with the deal."

"Agreed," Sirius says reaching over to shake my hand.

"Sounds good to me!" Peter chimes in while yanking my hand away from Sirius.

We sit there for a minute and right when James opens his mouth to inform us with another plan a loud scream echoes through our dorm. I jump up and see Mackenzie screaming and flailing around in the bed. I run over and shake her to try and wake her up.

"Mackenzie, Mackenzie, wake up!" I shout with no results. I sit down on James' bed, right next to her, and shake her shoulder. "Mack!" I shout again.

She startles awake and sits up as fast as she can. She looks terrified and brings her knees into her chest and starts hyperventilating. I pull her into me and hold her until she calms down.

"I think you need to tell us what that dream was about Mackenzie," Sirius speaks up once her head lifts back up.

"Are you sure? It might bother you all. I have been getting it every night since I was a child. Even if I tell people I will still wake up multiple times a night screaming," Mackenzie says softly.

"You definitely need to tell us then," I whisper to Mackenzie quietly.

"I was attacked by a werewolf when I was four years old," she whispers. All of our mouths drop open, and the boys turn and look at me since I'm shaking. I mouth to them that I'll be fine and turn back to Mack.

"Are your nightmares about you getting attacked?" I whisper. She will never want to be with me now if she is terrified of werewolves.

"Yes and no," Mackenzie explains softly. "It's a long story that I don't want to tell right now but I'm not scared of werewolves." My heart swells up; maybe I have a chance now.

She looks up at me and smiles. "Hey Rem," she whispers so only I can hear. "Can I sleep next to you tonight? Usually I have insomnia from the nightmares but you are so comforting that I fell asleep."

"Of course Mack," I tell her as I move her over to my bed. I join her under the covers and then she curls into my arms and falls asleep.
