Lily's POV

I wake up fairly early Saturday morning hearing whimpering before there is a thump on the ground. I quickly sit up and see Mack groaning and trying to stand up. Slowly she pushes herself off her bad shoulder and sits up. I lay back down as she rubs her face and looks around the room. She gets so nervous that her nightmares will wake someone up that when they wake me up I pretend to stay asleep, unless they are really bad.

I see her look at her clock then over at the corner and she stands up and slips through the wall to go see Remus. I roll over and look at my clock to see that it's almost 9 am. The boys are probably all awake since there is a Quidditch game today. As soon as that thought passes through my mind, my stomach breaks out into butterfly swarms.

I burrow my head into my pillow to muffle my groans. I drag myself out of bed and climb into the shower hoping it will relax the butterflies. I spend a lot of time just standing there with the hot water flowing through my hair. Water is the most soothing thing to me.

As I step out of the hot shower into the cold bathroom I instantly begin shivering so I get dressed quickly. I pull on my warmest layers for the Quidditch game and instinctively I grab the bright gold scarf that is the warmest one I own. I pause for a moment trying to remember where I got this scarf but ended up giving up before I could remember. I leave the dormitory and walk alone down to the Great Hall. It's quiet in the halls this morning and there is snow lightly falling outside. I hesitate before walking outside to stand in the snow. I tilt my head up towards the snow and laugh when it lands on my eyelashes. I stick out my tongue and try to catch a snowflake. I giggle some more once I get a snowflake and I hear some talking in the corridor stop.

"Hey Lily," a voice calls out softly and I turn around to see James standing there with his hands in his pockets looking nervous. I watch as the rest of the Marauders continue on their way to the Great Hall before approaching him.

"Hello Potter," I say quietly standing right in front of him.

He looks down at my chest and I start to bristle at how openly he is staring at me when he reaches out and grabs the end of the scarf I'm wearing.

"I didn't know you liked the scarf I gave you," he says softly before looking up at me with a smile.

I look down at the scarf shocked, so that's where I got this scarf. "It's the warmest one I own," I smile up at him.

"That's why I chose it. I noticed how cold you get in the winter and thought you needed a warmer one for the Quidditch games."

"Well it works perfectly James," I say before motioning for him to follow me inside. "You don't look very warm James, you should stay inside."

"I'm fine, I'll be plenty warm before the game starts," he says with the nervous tone.

I look up at him just in time to see him run his hand through his hair for what must be the nth time today based off how messy his hair is. I look at his hazel eyes see a slightly worried look in them but he is really trying to cover it up.

"Are you nervous?" I ask tugging on his arm so he will stop walking.

He looks down at me, "Are you kidding? Our team is the best at Hogwarts."

I shake my head, "That's not what I asked James."

Shock comes across his face when he hears me say his first name and he places his hands on my small shoulders and leans closer so there is no way anyone could over hear him.
