James' POV

Ever since Mack came back to school she has been sleeping in her own bed. This is really great for all of us because it would be suspicious if we had to kick her out randomly for a night because of Remus' wolfy adventures. Tonight is going to be the second night we will be joining him and I hope it's not going to be as crazy as last time.

I watch as Remus gets up from his bed where he's been napping for most of the evening. He slowly moves towards the bathroom and I can see how exhausted he is even though the transformation hasn't started yet. The second the bathroom door shuts I turn to Sirius.

"How do you think tonight is going to go?" I whisper.

"Well it most certainly won't be as exciting as it was last time," Sirius says joking.

"Sirius, that isn't funny. He attacked Mackenzie," I hiss at him.

He freezes, "Shit, I forgot about that. We really need to tell him that it was him that attacked her. He will be pissed if he finds out later on that we kept it from him."

I sigh, "I feel the same way but you know why we can't. We don't know for sure it was Mack and she doesn't know if it was a werewolf for sure. It would make things even worse if we told him and then we were wrong."

Just then Peter walks into the room and sees us whispering. "Talking about Remus?" he asks before hurrying over to join us. Peter hasn't been hanging out with us as much as he used to. He has been with his girlfriend a lot. It's bonkers that out of all of us Peter got a serious girlfriend first. I would've thought Remus would be first, Sirius and I used to be way too crazy for girls to deal with in a relationship.

"Yeah we are," Sirius whispers. "We don't know what to expect tonight since last time was so odd with him attacking the wolf."

"Well I doubt there will be a wolf to attack this time so he will probably be coming after us," Peter says.

I look at him, "Damn, you're right. This is gonna suck. We will have to make sure he doesn't attack us too badly."

"Maybe if we get him to run around and like get his energy out it will be a lot better," Sirius contemplates.

"I agree," Remus says loudly walking out of the bathroom. We were so focused on our conversation we didn't even hear the shower stop running.

"You weren't supposed to hear this conversation Remus," I say carefully, trying not to make him upset.

"And you all aren't supposed to come hang out with a werewolf after hours at Hogwarts but guess what you are going to do anyways," He sasses back.

Sirius, Peter, and I look at each other before bursting out laughing.

"You have been hanging out with Mackenzie way too much Remus," Sirius teases. "You are beginning to sound as sassy as she is."

"Oh shut it," Remus glares at us. He looks down at the watch on his wrist, "I have to go now. Meet me in the Shrieking Shack exactly 30 minutes. That will give you 15 minutes with me in the Shrieking Shack before I transform and you will have to shift."

We all nod and he disappears out of the room. For the next 20 minutes we sit in silence. At first we tried playing Wizard's chess but became too anxious to have the game actually be effective at distracting us. Finally, we give up and pull the invisibility cloak over our heads before sneaking down to the Shrieking Shack.

Once we get close, Peter transforms under the cloak into a rat and runs over to hit the knot that will freeze the tree. The second it freezes, Sirius and I run between the branches and disappear through the hole with Peter right in front of us. We run down the tunnel and pop up in the basement of the Shrieking Shack. We let the door slam as we exit the basement to alert Remus we have arrived. We dash up the stairs and go into the bedroom that Remus told us he would be in, just like last time.
