Remus' POV

"Why does it feel like the days keep getting longer?" Sirius asks as we climb the stairs to our dorm Friday night.  Sirius was right that we got a lot of homework but surprisingly it was less than I expected.  I mean there was still a good amount of it but I finished it during free period with Lily and Mack.

"I don't know Sirius but we need to start finishing up this map and Animagus thing. We've put it off all week," James says when we enter the dorm.

"No, we haven't. We have discussed it every night. We just need to get some books and ingredients and such," I mutter.

"And where could we get that sort of stuff?" James asks. "We'd have to steal it."

"No stealing," I say firmly. "We are going to need the help of Mackenzie. We need to include her."

"Why would we do that?" Peter says softly. He gets frightened around pretty girls.

"She is good at potions, did you guys see her in class? She's as good as Snape if not better.  Also she has to be good at transfiguration, Minnie is her mom. Which also means that if her mom has any books about becoming an Animagus Mack has access to them," I explain.

"We'll think about it. We would have to initiate her into the Marauders first," James says.

"You already said she was a Marauder, James," Sirius says softly.

Those three keep arguing over how Mackenzie is going to become a Marauder while I hear something scratching against our door.  "Do you all hear that?" I whisper as I walk over to the door. Of course I get no answer from them.

I open the door and see a small silver kitten run into the room.  The kitten jumps on my bed and lays down.  I slam the door and growl at the cat.  I'm a werewolf, and for some reason that makes me not like cats so much. I go to shove it off my bed when it shifts.

"Mack!" We all exclaim. "You're an Animagus?!"

"Good evening to you too! Now if you will excuse us I need to steal Remus from you all.  I believe you all have some homework to do and if you need help mine is in my bag," she says quickly while placing her bag on my bed.  She grabs my arm and pulls me out of the room.  "Remus, I have to shift to go back downstairs so make sure you follow me, okay?"  She turns back into the kitten and runs down the stairs.  I sprint down after her and through the portrait hole.

Once outside she shifts back, "we have to hurry and not be caught, okay? This would be so much easier if you were an Animagus!" She exclaims. "And I know you all want to be one so don't deny it. I will help you too, okay?"

"Um okay, now where are we going?" I ask.

"It's a surprise."

We wind through the corridors and run into no one. Finally we stop in front of a statue of a one-eyed witch. Mack pulls out her wand and taps the hump. "Dissendium," she whispers.

"You first Remus!" She says to me with a grin. I gape at her for a moment, she is so crazy yet it's amazing. For some reason I trust her so I jump down the hole. Now I know that I shouldn't jump feet first into something I don't know but I doubt she would steer me wrong.
