Mackenzie's POV

After James scared the living daylights out of me, I run over to Lily and Marlene because they probably want to know what Remus was talking to me about.

"You two are so cute," Lily whispers, linking her arm in mine. "I bet he likes you."

I shake my head and keep walking, "I doubt it Lily. People don't fall for someone the day after they meet them."

"Haven't you ever heard of love at first sight?" Marlene grins.

"I have. I just don't believe in it."

         Marlene and Lily stop walking.

"What?" I say quietly, turning around to face them. "I believe in soulmates but not love at first sight. I think you need to get to know someone first."

Lily shrugs and pulls Marlene forward to get walking again. "Well Remus is not the type of guy that will offer to give someone a tour around the school. If a teacher asks, then of course, but otherwise that's not him."

"Yeah and you sure looked cuddly on that bench," Marlene giggles.

I roll my eyes, "It's cold this morning." The girls giggle more. "Oh shut it guys, and don't even think about denying it. I can see both of your breaths in this air."

Lily grins, "She does have a point. Its September 1st and there's frost on the ground."

"Silencio!" rings through the air making everyone stop talking and look at the Marauders.  Remus looks even more embarrassed and is looking right at me so I grin at him and immediately he starts to relax.

Lily taps me on the arm, "I wonder what that was about."

"I have no idea," I say.  "Sirius was probably being an idiot, so why don't we head into the Transfiguration room?"

Marlene laughs, "Well that much is obvious. I bet they were picking on Remus about you. Do you see how red his face is?"
I turn around and look at the boys again. "Maybe."

Lily must see something I don't because she changes the topic. "What do you think McGonagall is going to teach us today?"

Marlene groans. This class must not be her favorite then again mum says Marlene doesn't seem to like many of her classes.

We walk into mum's classroom and Marlene and Lily run to the desk front and center. Each desk is set up in pairs of two so I have to sit behind them. The Marauders file in behind us and I hear a bunch of scuffling. I turn around and they all straighten up and act like nothing happened. I turn back around to the front and the next thing I know, someone is shoved into my chair. I whirl around and almost bump Remus in the head. Remus and I freeze, there is like an inch in between our faces. I watch Remus' eyes and see them flitter down to my lips before looking back up so quickly. I must've imagined it.

Remus sighs and moves away from me, so he is a more comfortable distance away.  "Sorry Mack, those two idiots shoved me into you. Do you mind if I sit next to you?" Remus asks me.

I grin at him, "I don't mind at all Rem, take a seat."

He sits down and pulls out the text for the class. He looks at me and opens his mouth to say something when mum walks in.

"Good Morning Class!" My mum announces as she walks into the room. Super loudly, might I add, so Remus and I jump a bit. James and Sirius start cracking up behind us. I give them my evilest glare.
