Chapter 13: Anna

Emma walks into Mr. Conklin's room in the hospital.

"Hello Mr. Conklin. I'm Ms. Swan. You know you'll be in jail for awhile now"

"You have no proof I did anything"

"We found a woman tied up in the basement. She has your fingerprints all over her. You're sentenced to life in prison no matter what else you do. Why don't you tell me who she is and why you took her"

"I don't have to answer you"

Emma walks closer to the bed and rests her hand on the rail.

"Listen, you've been hiding for 30 years, but I found you. I can figure out any information about you that I want. Why don't you save me the effort and just tell me. Maybe I'll let you stay in the hospital longer"

He looks at her defeated but still with anger in his eyes

"She's the one who never loved me. I loved her but she ran off with the man I used to call my best friend. They ruined my life"

"I'm sorry but the woman, Anna, Mr. Jones' wife is dead. We found the body"

"That was a fake I put there so you'd all think that he did it and I could get away clean. I bribed the medical examiner"

"Who was the women you killed. Did you kidnap her too"

"I don't know, some random girl that looked like her. I killed her and used some of Anna's blood"

"So the woman in your basement was Anna"

"Yes, I kidnapped her but she still never loved me. I stabbed her when I heard the cops. I couldn't let her live without me"

"The doctors said you must have her. She has many scars and old injuries"

He shuts up now and doesn't say anything else. Emma is overwhelmed with information. Turns out that Killian's mother is also alive and could possibly be dying in surgery right now. Emma calls Killian right after she's finished talking with Mr. Conklin. She steps into the hallway and leans against the wall. She dials Killian's number

"Swan, how'd it go" Killian asks

"We caught him Killian" Emma says

"Emma that's amazing! I knew you'd find him"

"There's something else"

"What? Is something wrong"

"Well um first of all your dad is being released from prison. I was wondering if you and Liam could pick him up and bring him here"

"Where are you"

" Massachusetts General Hospital"

"Why are you at the hospital."

"I shot Conklin and we found someone in his basement it's........"

"Emma you're scaring me"

"Your mother is alive Killian. She's in surgery"

"He faked her death?"

"Yes and held her captive. Please get your dad and brother and come here. When she gets out of surgery you will be the ones she will want to see"

"I'm on my way love"

Emma sits in the waiting room. Most of the cops have left but two stand guard at Mr. Conklin's door. They have to wait until he heals to send him to jail. Emma waits for some time until she sees Killian running in along with his father.

"Emma!" Killian yells

Emma stands up and Killian runs over and kisses her very passionately.

"That was quite a greeting babe" Emma replies with a big smile on her face.
