Chapter 45: Unexpected

Elizabeth is now three months old, James is almost two and the twins are three. Today is the day before Christmas Eve. Killian and Emma are starting a tradition where they make Christmas cookies with the kids on this day. Killian wakes up and sees his beautiful wife sleeping. He kisses her forehead and she opens her eyes

"I didn't mean to wake you love" he says as he gazes in her emerald eyes

"It's okay" she replies with a smile

She pulls his face closer and kisses him. Killian moves so he is on top of her and they are making out. Emma grabs his boxers and pulls them down

"You think we have time for this love?" Killian says between breaths

"Just hurry before someone cries or screams" Emma whispers against his lips

"Well you need to be quiet, Ellie is asleep right in her crib a few feet away"

"Sometimes I can't help it" She smirks at him.

They tangle themselves in the sheets for 15 minutes and lay in each other's arms

"You sleep love, I'll go take care of the kids" Killian says

"No, Elizabeth probably needs me to feed her and we have to check her blood pressure and"

"Emma I know that you are afraid of loosing her but you need a break. I can handle the kids for an hour, there is breastmilk in the fridge. Get some sleep please. I love you "

"I'm fine Killian"

"I know, but you should sleep. We will be getting up early on Christmas. Plus we have a lot of baking to do today"

Killian gets up and puts on a tshirt and sweat pants. He takes Elizabeth out of her crib and changes her diaper. He takes her out of their room and into the living room. He finds Henry watching tv with Ava and James. He places Ellie in the bassinet and goes upstairs. Liam is still asleep so Killian closes his door. He goes back downstairs and makes some breakfast. He makes scrambled eggs and toast for everyone. The kids are not picky eaters since their dad is a chef. The rule in their house is you have to try everything on your plate. Killian has been working at the bar since Liam has been in rehab, he is taking care of the business. Liam is coming home tomorrow actually. They plan on closing the bar because of Liam's addiction and the fact that Killian wants to work at restaurants. Killian will be working at an Italian restaurant called Marios. He has met with Mario himself who works there, they get along great and Killian has been hired as the head chef. After an hour, Emma is awake and so is little Liam. They eat breakfast then wash their hands to get ready to bake. Emma has them set up at the counter to cut the shapes of cookies with the cookie cutters. Henry helps Killian knead and roll out the dough. The kids make stars, angles, trees and ginger bread men shaped sugar cookies. Killian places them on baking sheets and bakes them in the oven. While they wait for the first batch to bake, Ava reads goodnight moon to her siblings and parents. She is very smart for a three year old, she absorbs every bit of information and is always wanting people to read to her more difficult books. Once the first batch of cookies is baked they set out to cool. Emma and Henry mix up confectionary sugar and water to make icing. They make blue, green, yellow and pink icing using food coloring. Then the kids take plastic knives and decorate the sugar cookies with icing and different sprinkles. Emma takes a break to breastfeed Ellie in the living room. Her cellphone rings right as Elizabeth finishes so she picks it up.

"Hello?"

"Em.....Emma it's Grace"

"Hi Grace do you want to speak to Henry"
