These people peeve me off so much on Wattpad... They're just greedy little twerps who don't know how the system works.
You be nice = more readers
Demand votes and withhold chapters = lose readers
It's basically a ransom note if you think about it. They're not letting you read the next chapter until you "pay up".
If I could, I'd go through my screen right now and punch the brat who wrote that whisper. She feels she deserves those votes... Oh how she's wrong.
No one is entitled to their votes. They are a gift from our readers. They represent that people enjoy our story and want to support it.
Yes, they do give a boost to your popularity, but that shouldn't be why you want votes, EVER.
Yes, mini goals are fine, but don't withhold chapters until you meet that goal. It's stupid to do.
Votes are for stories that deserve it. Never demand votes out of your readers!
