Wattpad protects us from theft, and I am thankful for that. But some jerks on here just don't seem to understand that you CANNOT copy and paste PUBLISHED AND COPYRIGHTED books onto Wattpad. That is plagiarism and 100% illegal.
I found an account doing this and I reported it. Hopefully Wattpad takes care of the issue.
This person was reposting classics but also some self-published works by small authors who are over on amazon and other sites that sell books and ebooks.
DO NOT do this.
You wanna help people read Romeo and Juliet? @WilliamShakespeare is the account you go to, link it from that account that is made BY WATTPAD to share his literary works.
Same with Jane Austen, Fydor Dostoevsky, Mark Twain, and others.
Do not upload their works to Wattpad when they've already set them up for us to read. These books are PUBLIC DOMAIN and should not be posted by us as it counts as plagiarism when we post it under our accounts. Our accounts are for our own works, not literary legends who are not us.
I cannot stress this enough. People who do this also do it to try to get fame.
DON'T DO IT.
WATTPAD WILL SHUT YOUR ACCOUNT DOWN ONCE FOUND OUT.
