Jobs

Okay, anyone else notice the lack of jobs characters have in the high school set stories?

We all know the single mom of the heroine goes to a job, but we never learn what it is.

And the main character? She has a lot of money to spend all the time it seems.

She should have a job, right?

Well, if you thought yes, you're wrong.

It seems money grows on trees for the heroine in every teen fiction romance and she never has to lift a finger.

Oh, and if she does have a job? It's generally given to her at the first interview.

Hun, it isn't that easy. Most places rather hire kids who are 17, not 16. Plus, they don't want an employee who's readily unavailable. Reason I say this is that it seems the character always has something important going on.

And if they do have a job, they do fake sick days so much and it makes me so irritated.

LIKE BITCH. I ONLY GET THREE SICK DAYS OUT OF THE WHOLE YEAR FOR MY MINIMUM WAGE RETAIL JOB.
^Any more than that and I'm on the chopping block of possibly being fired.

Most retail places are like that, food too.

SO STOP HAVING THE HEROINE HAVE SICK DAYS AT WORK IF SHE HAS A JOB.

And make her have a job for once anyways...
