I don't want to ignore this, I don't. And I am addressing it now.

I've been debating the last few days if I should write this, and at this point, I'm 100% going to. If I have a platform, then I should use it.

I am first going to state that what I'm talking about happened in the USA this week, so not everyone here will know this, but I'm sure a lot of the world has heard about it through social media.

Two incidents happened this week. In NYC in Central Park, a woman called the cops on an African American man saying he was hurting her when all he asked her to do was put her dog on its leash (Central Park has a law that you must leash your pets). The second incident involved a cop and an innocent man named George Floyd. George was wrongly accused of fraud in a store, had the cops called on him, and was met with police brutality despite being compliant and calm with the officers involved. In the end, a white male officer pinned George to the ground with a knee on his neck. Onlookers tried to stop the officer, but the officer didn't budge. George was dead within 8 to 9 minutes from the pressure. All he said was "I can't breathe" and called for his mother as he took his last few breaths.

The Central Park one I feel needs more justice, but it has been solved. That woman lost her job. Although I believe she should be charged with attempted murder as everyone in the USA knows it's basically a death sentence if the cops are called on an African American. She knew this when she dialed 911.

For the issue of what happened to George. I am FURIOUS. The officer was finally arrested, 4 days after the murder, but the FBI says they can't charge him for it as a "video isn't enough evidence". Like wtf?

UPDATE 10/30/2020: This has gone global, and for those who may not know, the officer has been charged, put in prison, and had a bail bond of $100k. Some asshat paid it and the officer is free. HE IS FREE TO ROAM AND I AM ANGRY. THE MURDERER NEEDS TO BE PUT BACK IN.

This is why Black Lives Matter is a movement and a cause. Because so many innocent lives of African Americans are taken by police and white people.

Sure, say whites die at the same rate as African Americans, but guess what? There are way more whites in the USA than there are of POC COMBINED. So the percentage of deaths in the African American community is way higher. They deserve justice for all the racist crimes against them.

I don't have to worry about being shot for just going down a road. Why? Because I'm a white woman.

Anyone of color fears for their life.

I'm tired of white supremacy and white privilege.

Black Lives Fucking Matter.

And don't you dare say "all lives matter" in the comments. If you do, I'm banning your racist self from my books.

Inequality needs to stop.

People should not live in fear of the color of their skin.

There MUST be justice for George.

He should not be another statistic, no person of color should.

We must fight against racism.
