Okay, first off, I'd like to say prom can be fun, but it's also boring depending on your school's planning and such (juniors have to plan my high school's theme and food. The 2018 class failed big time lmao).

Prom seems to be glorified here in any teen romance book. Why?

It's just a school dance.

*Gasps* Summer, you don't understand! Prom is what we live-

Ah, but it's only a small school dance. Heck, even if all juniors and seniors are allowed at my prom, it's only a quarter of the two classes combined that go. It's a school dance.

I get some schools do the King and Queen game, but that's typical popularity voting. The queen of my school's winter formal was a chick I've been enemies with for a few years now. She only won since she's the most athletic and typical popular blonde. (I just got how there's a cliche living in my life 😂😂😂)

The dude who won King? I can't remember exactly who, but they were the kind and chill dudes of my senior class. They were kinda popular, but nerds like me and my friends. Lol

In general, you do have the populars who win King and Queen at prom. It's understandable, but...

WHY DOES EVERY TEEN FIC ON HERE HAVE THE NEW CHICK WIN THE CROWN?! IT SHOULD BE THE POPULAR CHICK!

I get people want to do the "Ha! I beat you, bitch!" in their storyline, but is that even logical?

The popular people are the ones who get the crown, or a well known sweetheart that everyone loves and adores. So stop trying to do the slap in the face to the antagonist and make things logical in the teen fiction section for once!

And also, for the king chosen at prom. It goes the same way. It's by popularity.

Thankfully, most of the popular guys at my school are nice and I've actually spent time with. So I know personally that they are deserving of the crown.

So for once, do something smart in a teen fiction cliche and make the populars win. Your heroine and her love interest should not both win!
