Brett found something comfortable to wear eventually and went to the kitchen to see if he could help out with anything. The sight that met him in the doorway almost knocked him down, though. It wasn't an uncommon sight, he had seen it almost every morning since they moved in together. Had Eddy always looked so gorgeous cooking eggs?

When he got back to the real world he started setting the table, like he always did. He listened to Eddy's low humming of whichever piece he was practicing right now. Normally Brett would know what it was, but this time he was too distracted by his voice to make the connection. In general, everything was normal except Brett's brain.

The two sat in silence and ate the slightly too little salted eggs Eddy had made.
"Sorry for the bland eggs", he said like he did every morning after tasting them himself.
"No, they're good. Thanks", Brett replied, like he always did. Everything felt so normal and it freaked Brett out. Had he imagined last night? Had he imagined waking up to Eddy in his bed?
The rain started tapping on the window, making the silence in the room slightly more bearable. Eddy felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and pulled it out. From Jordon.

13:02 Jordon: You lovebirds awake?

Eddy stared at the message for a second, not sure what to think of the word "lovebirds". They had kissed, yeah, slept in the same bed, but nothing had happened other than that. And this morning had felt very normal, like every morning. Had Brett just been too drunk to know what he was doing?

We're awake, yeah. Why? :Eddy 13:05

He looked up from his phone at Brett, who sat there like some kind of greek god in the slightly too worn out t-shirt hanging loosely from his shoulders, the wide neckline revealing his pale collarbones. Eddy's mind flashed an image of how it would be to softly kiss his collarbone, how his face hopefully would twist in pleasure...
He snapped back to reality when his phone vibrated in his hand, realizing he was biting his lower lip. He stopped doing that and read Jordon's reply.

13:07 Jordon: Forgot my jacket, I think. Okay if I drop by in half an hour to get it?

"Who's texting?" Brett asked while shoving the last bit of his eggs into his mouth. He hadn't dared to look at Eddy, knowing his cheeks probably would turn a bright shade of pink, but he heard the recognizable buzz of the vibration.
"Uh, Jordon. He's coming to get his jacket", Eddy said absentmindedly while typing in a short "Sure, no worries" to send to Jordon.
"Right", Brett replied, trying his best to avoid the tiny hint of jealousy in the bottom of his stomach. If what he thought happened last night happened he had nothing to be jealous of, and if it didn't he had nothing to be jealous of. It was stupid to be jealous, he was better than that.

"It was fun having Ray and Jordon over, we should do that more often", Eddy commented and put down his phone. "Don't you think?"
"Yeah, it was fun." Brett forced himself to look up at Eddy, and felt the blush creep over his cheeks when his eyes met Eddy's.
"Besides, you're so cute when you're drunk", Eddy said followed by a a playful laugh. Brett felt his cheeks warm up a bit more.
"Yeah? Maybe I should drink more often then", Brett joked and stuck his tongue out at him. He wasn't too sure if "cute" was what he was going for, but if that's what he got he'd take it.

It was quiet for a while after that except the sound of Eddy's fork hitting his plate at he ate the rest of his eggs. Brett tried to find the best way to go around what he thought had happened last night, but Eddy beat him to a conclusion.
"So uh... We kissed?" Eddy stated, trying to seem more confident than he was. In reality, he was scared Brett had been too drunk to think about what he was doing or something like that. What if he didn't actually like him like that?
Brett's eyes flickered, not really locking onto anything. He was nervous too, but relieved Eddy confirmed that it actually happened.
"Uh yeah, we did", he replied, nodding in confirmation and licking his lower lip without realizing it himself. "And uh, it wasn't Jordon... Your crush, I mean."
Eddy couldn't help but laugh a bit at the last part of Brett's sentence.
"Nah, you're right", he said, still giggling. "It isn't Jordon, and not Ray. Haven't we had this conversation already?"
"I don't know, I might need a little reminder of your response..." Brett said with a cheeky smile, loving how insanely cute Eddy looked with reddened cheeks. He didn't know where he found this confidence, but he wasn't about to throw it out the window.
Eddy moved over to sit on the chair next to Brett instead of the one across from him. He took his hand carefully in his, looking down at their hands as Brett intertwined his fingers with Eddy's. Eddy tilted his head up again to look into Brett's gorgeous brown eyes.
"You mean this response?" he half whispered, and slowly leaned in to touch his lips against Brett's once more.
