"Well you told me dress nicely... is this too much?" you asked Laxus, "not at all, you look beautiful" he said and took your hands in his, pressing a small kiss to your lips, "this is so sudden, you've been a little... little distant lately, is everything ok?" you asked in slight worry. "Can we go to the pier first? And then talk?" he asked in retort, you gulped and nodded, you followed him blindly as he brought you to the car and opened the door for you, you got in and he sat beside you, "I wanna talk to you" he said, taking your hand again, "but I promise I will tell you everything when we get there" he said, lifting your hand and kissing the top. You nodded, you got to the pier and the two of you walked along the pier to get to the beach, "you know you're out of dress code right?" he asked to tease you, "oh shush you bought this for me anyway!" you complained, laughing slightly, he smiled, giving you that smile you fell in love with when you were teenagers.
"Your smile is still..." you started, "still what?" he asked, "like I wanna smack it off your face, but I also wanna kiss you" you said, he laughed, "I like the latter" he said and leaned forward, kissing you. "Angel will you put this on for me?" he asked, handing me a blindfold, "we aren't in the bedroom.." you mumbled as a joke and he turned red, laughing a bit as you nodded, he tied the silk blindfold over your eyes, "can I pick you up?" he asked, "can you or are you?" you asked him back laughing, "I am" he chuckled and swiftly picked you up bridal style, he carried you for a while, "baby where are we going?" you asked, "just a little more angel" he said, "I'm putting you down my love" he warned you and you felt your heeled boots touch the ground, "here" he said and took off the blindfold, you were astonished, you was standing on the flat sand, a beautiful sunset to your right, the waves and the smell just felt so refreshing, there were a lot of candles lit around you and rose petals scattered all around the sand, "what is this?" you asked.
"I know I've been very distant lately, I haven't been home a lot and I'm sorry, I'm sorry that I haven't been home at night to hold you to sleep, home to cook dinner with you, or to watch movies and build pillow forts with you, I'm sorry, that you won't get that time back, that you cant take those tears back, that I cant take that pain away" he said, every word he said made your eyes tear up. You very lightly touched the bottom of my eyes to tap away the tears, "(y/n) I love you from the bottom of my heart, and I have since we were teenagers, and for all those years I wanted to make sure that, that I could be the best boyfriend to you, and make you proud of who you're dating, I know with... being a well known mage and the grandchild of a guild master puts obstacles between our relationship, I really cant tell you how much I appreciate you... always being ok with compromising with me to make this work, you being there with me a hundred percent of the way, it means the world to me, I cant take away the countless times I found you crying yourself to sleep, or crying alone in the bathroom after I tell you that I cant make it to our dinner because of a mission, or that I won't be home in time for our date, I'm sorry I caused you so much pain" he said.
You kept crying, Laxus took both of your hands in his, and he leaned forward, kissing your tears away, "(y/n) I love you, I love you so much, and last night, when I was able to just lay down with you, and... have deep conversations with you, and think about our future, it really made me realize, I laid there and looked at you get excited, talking about buying a house, and having pets, and having kids, that twinkle in your eyes, it was such a beautiful sight and it's something I wanna see the rest of my life, when I'm lying beside you in the morning, when I'm sitting beside you in the delivery room, when I'm standing beside you at our new house, and when I'm old, and i can barely walk, and I have to wear hearing aids to listen to your really bad singing but I appreciate it anyway" he said which made you laugh amidst your crying, "I love you, and I wanna spend the rest of my life with you (y/n)" he said.
You watched him kneel down, and your heart stopped, it felt like time stopped moving and nothing mattered except the man you love in front of you, "(f/n) (l/n), will you marry me?" he asked, you cried into my hands, "YEAH!" you shouted laughing, immediately hugging him so hard he fell over and onto a candle, "OH NO!" you yelled and he got up, you patted the fire off his jacket making the two of you laugh, "that's such an us kinda thing to get set on fire from a candle" you said and he laughed quietly, "I love you" he said, giving you a kiss, "can I put the ring on you? I hope you like it" he said and you nodded, your eyes widened when you actually looked at it. "I went shopping with the boys, and I was just lost in diamonds, I was so confused and I think the Freed and Bickslow didn't know what to do either" he said making you laugh as he slid the ring on your finger, "this is why you asked if I wanted to go look at jewelry on our anniversary... isn't it?" you asked, he chuckled shyly and rubbed his neck, "I didn't wanna get the size wrong" he said and you laughed.
You heard yelling and saw the guild come running from the pier making you laugh, they were all so happy and overjoyed and you just felt so loved and so happy. Fairy Tail truly was your home and meeting Laxus was the best moment in your life, and absolutely couldn't wait to grow old with him.
