Dumbledore was gone. The worst possible thing that could happen did. The castle was also now without Hagrid, even though Lina didn't often interact with him even Lina felt his absence.
Fear had spread through the castle, especially with Dumbledore gone, Lina and her friends spent all their free time in the common room revising, or Lina practising her wandless magic or just doing nothing in particular.
But of course because of the new rules the number of times Lina had subsequently seen Oliver she could count on one hand. "I'm going to break up with Oliver" Lina whispered the Lucy, the two girls were alone revising while the boys were off in their dormitory.
Lucy dropped her quill in shock and twisted her head to Lina "I'm not sure how to react, am I happy or no just happy."
"Thanks for the support."
"Sorry, Sorry, let me start over. Oh no Lina, I'm so sorry, why? Better?" She asked sarcastically.
"The effort is appreciated, I just" Lina sighed "what's the easiest way to explain this. When I woke up in the hospital wing and I didn't see Oliver I wasn't upset I was....relieved but when I saw...." Lina placed her head in her hands "I can't say it."
Lucy next to her was grinning from ear to ear "yes you can."
"But you already know."
"I want to hear it."
Lina peaked at Lucy through her fingers "when I woke up and saw Cedric I knew he was the only one I wanted to see in that moment and I've been thinking, for a couple of months now that maybe I-"
"Yes."
"If I say this everything will change."
"Maybe for the better."
Lina sighed "I'm ninety-nine per cent sure I have a crush on...Cedric."
Lucy squealed a un Lucy like squeal "I knew it" she said smugly "I knew it, I knew it, I knew it, I can't wait to tell Danny, he owes me so many galleons I've lost count ha! I can't believe this moment has finally happened. Danny-"
"No!" Lina placed a hand over Lucy's mouth "you can't tell anyone, especially Danny, he'll keep mentioning it in front of Cedric and I'm not ready for him to know, I don't know if I'll ever be ready because if he doesn't feel the same way I refuse to lose Cedric. Do you understand?"
Lina nodded her head licked Lina's hand, Lina immediately retracted her hand and wiped it dry on Lucy's jeans "are you sure you don't want to tell Cedric?"
"Positive, I don't want anything to ruin what we have."
"Alright ladies" the girls looked up in alarm as the boys approached "are we interrupting?"
