Cedric was panicking. The second task was half an hour away, he knew he had to retrieve something taken from him and he knew the task was underwater, that wasn't the problem, he had perfected the bubblehead charm and he could swim. So what was the problem?

"Mate," Danny said snapping Cedric out of his thought.

Cedric stopped pacing the length of his dorm and looked at Danny and Lucy who were both stood in the doorway, no Lina. "Yeah?" He sighed.

"You've got thirty minutes till the task...you better head down to the lake, don't want to be late or anything."

"Right," Cedric said picking up his wand that was right next to Egg, and a pocket knife in case he needed it for the task, the tiny dragon had fallen asleep. Maybe if Cedric gave Lina Egg maybe then she would talk to him. He'll do it after the task, what did he have to lose?

"You alright?" Lucy asked as the three left the common room.

"Where's eve?" He blurted out, shit.

"Oh, I don't know" Lucy admitted.

Cedric stopped walking and turned to the girl "what'd you mean you don't know where she is?"

"She never came back to the common room last night," Danny said to get some of the heat off Lucy, both he and Lucy had stayed up last night and had given up waiting for their friend when the clocked passed one in the morning.

"Great" Cedric mumbled and stormed off to the lake. Cedric figured there were two reasons why Lina hadn't been seen, one was because somehow she had gone missing which was stupid and completely unlikely and the second, the much more plausible one was that Lina wasn't coming. She was being stubborn and although not in her nature she was being mean. "Why isn't she coming!?" Cedric spun around and unintentionally glared at Danny and Lucy "I get that we aren't exactly talking at the moment, for whatever reason, but this is one of the most important days in my life. She should be here!"

"Maybe she's in the crowd already," Danny said.

"Yeah, that's exactly where she'll be. She wouldn't miss this Cedric" Lucy said.

"Yeah well if she does...I'll be bloody pissed." But a little voice in the back told Cedric that he wouldn't which was correct. Cedric would be mad at Lina until he looked into her eyes and them all the anger he felt would melt away.

Cedric turned his back on his friends and walked into the champions' tent. The whole time the second task was being explained Cedric wasn't listening, he knew she should have but he couldn't stop thinking about Lina. That girl, she was perfect to him, her smile, her laugh. Stop Cedric! Right the task, one hour, find the thing that had been taken and get back up the surface, remember one hour.
