The next morning, Dylan woke up from a bad headache. He also complained that he could not open his eyes.

Mrs. Walton quickly called the doctor. When he came, he immediately checked Dylan's head injury if there was a heavy blood spill or open area on the incision. When he didn't find any physical problem, he asked him a few questions before he gave him a pain reliever.

"I will ask you a few quick questions. I need you to answer them, so we can treat you better, okay?" he instructed.

"Okay" Dylan answered in a low tone.

"Which part of your head you feel the pain?" he began.

"On my left. It's really painful. It feels like my head is cracking." Dylan answered, wincing.

"Okay, that's normal. Your surgery is still raw. You will feel pain like that for a few days, but don't worry. We'll give you oral medicines that can reduce it. Now, tell me if there are other parts of your body that you feel achy, even if it's just a mild pain." the doctor probed.

"Just the left side of my head... Um, Doc, I really can't open my eyes. I've been trying since I woke up, but I really can't move them. What's happening?" he asked in a worried tone.

"All right, let me check them. Just relax." the doctor said.

He took a small flashlight out of his pocket and gently opened Dylan's right eyelid. Mrs. Walton was tensely watching behind him.

"Okay... Can you see me?" the doctor asked.

"It's very blurry and it hurts." he answered, wincing.

When the doctor finished examining his both eyes, he turned and looked heavily at Mrs. Walton.

"We need to scan his eyes." he told her.

"Why? What's wrong with my eyes? Am I going blind?" Dylan asked in a frantic tone.

"Calm down, son. It's too early to say that. Like I said, we need to scan your eyes first. We have an Ophthalmologist in this hospital. I'll request her to see you this afternoon. For now, take a rest. In a few minutes, a nurse will come here and give you a pain reliever for your headache." After he said that, he left the room.

When Dylan was finally given a pain reliever, his headache immediately subsided.

"Your dad will be here tomorrow afternoon." Mrs. Walton told him.

"Sorry, mom... I was not in myself that time." he said in a regretful tone.

"Your car is completely destroyed... and..." She hesitated to continue.

Dylan felt bothered. "What?"
