10 pm Sophie and I are sitting in a room talking while also eating there was music playing in the background. It was good to interact with someone who isn't an idol. As we are talking I hear my phone ringing. Taking it off the table I see that it's Jaehyun
"Who's calling?" "My boyfriend but it should be like 5am in Korea" "Answer it" "I'll put it on speaker"
Swiping to answer I'm greeted by his just woken up voice
"Jagiya" "Jaehyun can I put you on speaker cause I'm with my friend" "Should I speak in English?" "Yeah she doesn't speak Korean"
Putting it on speaker I place the phone on the table.
"Jaehyun I want you to say hi to Sophie, Sophie say hi to Jaehyun" "Hello Sophie" "Hi Jaehyun? Did I say it correct?" "Close enough, why did you call isn't it like 5am?" "I wanted to talk before my schedule" "Schedule?" "Yeah Jaehyun's an idol as well so he has a schedule" "Wait you're dating an idol? How?" "I'll say later, Jeffery I hope you eat before you do anything" "I will you should eat" "We are eating" "Good oh I've got to go, it was nice meeting you Sophie" "You too" "Jagiya I'll see you when you come back." I felt my face heat up at him
"I love you too, bye"
I hang up after he says goodbye
"He seems nice." "He is" "He also sounds so caring" "He is" "You call him Jeffery?" "Yep inside joke, I've called him since the first time I met him"
I hear footsteps on the stairs.
"Is someone coming up?" "I don't know, I still have to give Kim her birthday present." "Hmm pass me my hoodie I want to watch her reaction."
Slipping my hoodie on I keep the hood up. The two of us leave the room and head downstairs. I follow her to where her sister is as well as the family. When the presents are passed I watch as she opens them. It looked like she stopped breathing.
"There's something special about Serenity's album"
Her sister opens my album and screams when she sees it's signed.
"There's a second message written in there"
Sophie and I leave to head back upstairs. The two of us break out into laughter.
"I thought she was going to die" "Same" "I think she is excited" "Hopefully I can help her."
The music in the background changes to one of my songs. I couldn't help but get up to dance to it.
"It looks difficult" "Not really, let me show you"
Taking her hand I pull her up and slowly show her the dance.
11pm Coming back from the bathroom I see that Sophie had cried.
"You Ok?" "She came in and hugged me" "Really?" "Yeah, she found the message you wrote." "Ah"
We decide to watch videos. She picked one of my performances. It was a performance of Heaven was needing a hero and Now you belong to heaven. This was the first performance of the songs. I couldn't hide the tears.
"You Ok?" "This is the first performance of these songs."
I couldn't stop crying.
"Where these written about someone?" "Yeah" "Do you need something"
I go quiet as I lose myself to all of the memories of 2018. I don't see Sophie grab my phone and call someone
"Hello?" "Jaehyun?" "Sophie" "Ailish isn't responding and is just crying" "What happened?" "Well we are watching a video of her performing two of her songs" "What songs?" "Uh Heaven was needing a Hero and Now you belong to heaven" "Give the phone to her" "Ok"
I feel my phone press against my ear.
"Jagiya" "Is your mind a mess?" "Will you go somewhere private?"
Standing up I move to the room they keep all the movies.
"Jaehyun I hate feeling like this" "I know Jagiya, will you tell me what you remembered?" "His funeral and August last year" "Jagiya you aren't alone." "When I get home can we do something?" "Of course Jagiya" "Will you send funny photos and videos?" "Of course Jagiya" "Thank you Jaehyun" "I'm always here Jagiya"
I hang up and head back to Sophie. She looked concerned.
"You Ok?" "Yeah I'm better" "What caused it?" "Those songs where written about another idol not long after he passed, he was like my older brother" "How did he pass?" "Suicide"
I hear her gasp.
"I was remembering his funeral. I didn't want to even walk into it my manager had to drag me in." "Jesus" "Yeah our fans always called and still do call us platonic soulmates."
We change the conversation to something happier. We end up making up funny stories of our future. I need more friends that aren't in the industry.
