I was putting on my shoes when my dad comes out of a guest bedroom
"You ready?" "Yeah" "Ok I'm driving us, Jaehyun's meeting us at the restaurant with his parents" "Alright"
The two of us leave the apartment and head down to the parking lot. I guide him to the car before getting in. Once both of us are buckled up I begin the drive. I couldn't shake how nervous I was about this meeting. Music was playing over the radio, it took roughly 20 minutes to get to the restaurant. Parking the car the two of us get out before entering the restaurant. It's easy to spot Jaehyun and his parents, he smiles when he sees me.
"Jagiya"
I smile as my dad and I get closer.
"Jeffery"
Introducing our parents is easy. Sitting down we all look over what we want. I'm glad I don't have to translate for my dad.
"Were you nervous?" "Yeah"
I feel him press a kiss against my cheek which causes me to laugh
"Stop it lover boy" "Can't help it"
Looking at our parents them seemed comfortable with each other
"Do you think they'll tell embarrassing stories to each other about us?" "Knowing my dad...Yes" "He never showed me baby pictures of you"
I glance at him before poking his cheek
"I'm sure you were cute as a baby" "And you looked funny" "Not nice" "I've seen pre-debut footage of you which always made me laugh"
The five of us order food before going back to our conversation. A hand takes mine and I feel a kiss pressed to the back of it
"Can you stop being romantic for one night?" "With you? Never"
I felt my face heat up.
"Stop it" "Did I make you blush?" "No" "I did" "No" "I made you blush Jagiya"
I ignore him to look at our parents who were staring at us with smiles. I was confused but pushed it away when the food came. Our parents act like they've been friends for years.
"They seem close" "Yeah" "I wish we could tell them"
Looking towards Jaehyun I see the sad look in his eyes
"You know why we can't" "Yeah someday we will though" "Yeah and both sides will be beyond happy" "My mother would call you daughter in law in public" "Yeah"
The two of us laugh as we think of our future. It's hard keeping a secret.
