"Sanity and happiness are an impossible combination." -Mark Twain

The usual morning sunlight hit my face at a million times speed. I didn't know why the harsh rays hurt so badly today. I moved slightly in my bed, but winced once I felt a sharp pain in my thigh.

I forgot about that

I squinted my eyes so I could slowly get used to the burning light that had taken over my room. As I got more comfortable with the change, my eyes fully opened, allowing me to look around the full room.

I was alone? I could have sworn Harry was beside me when I went to bed last night. Was I hallucinating that? As I kept looking around the room, I noticed that my door was slightly open. Like someone purposely left a tiny sliver in the door.

I removed the sheets from over my body and looked down at all my bruises and the big cut on my inner leg. It looked way cleaner than when I saw it last. The bandage was a little scrunched up from me sleeping, but it was still protecting the gash.

I pushed my feet to the floor and hesitantly got to my feet. In instinct, I bent my knee so there wasn't much pressure on my hurt leg. I limped over to my dresser and leaned my weight against it.

I then moved to the wall until I was right beside the door. I heard the faint pacing of shoes.

"I know Niall. What was I supposed to do?" Harry was speaking into the phone with an annoyed tone.

"Yes, yes I explained a little. No, I can't say everything yet. Why?! You know why! No! Don't tell Natalie! She'll murder me." Harry seemed to be getting angrier and angrier as he stayed on the phone.

Please for the love of god don't tell Natalie yet

"She's asleep, I think. I heard moving so I think she might be waking up. Yes, I'll tell her you said hello? Why do you like her so much? Oh give it a rest. Niall. I'll see you tomorrow when you get back. Okay, goodbye." Harry hung up the phone and I heard a loud thump.

I wanna know what Niall said now...

I opened the door wide enough for me to peek through, flashing Harry a grin. His head peered up at me standing in the doorway, all my weight on the door frame. He nodded at me.

"Did you hear that whole conversation?" Harry stood up straight and rubbed the back of his neck.

Harry was changed into a brown suit with a white and blue striped dress shirt. His hair looked a little wet and he was clean of all blood. Did he leave me asleep? What if I woke up and he wasn't there? What if someone came to my house while he wasn't there? God I'm so paranoid now.

"Just the last few seconds." I shrugged and tried to move more into the room. I had a lazy limp and stumbled over to the couch.

Harry approached me cautiously, hovering his hands near my lower back as I threw myself onto the couch and perching my leg up. I cleared my throat before looking at his concerned look.

"Your gonna kill yourself walking around like that." Harry chuckled and sat down beside me on the couch.

"I'm sure that's the least likely thing to kill me." I laughed, but Harry turned his expression to serious.

Too soon to joke about that? Noted.

"Uhm, the guys and Natalie are coming back tomorrow." Harry grasped his phone hard in his hand.

"Do any of them know what happened? Well, beside Niall." I pushed my hands into my lap, unsure of where to put them.

"Everyone but Natalie. I know she's gonna like, blow up in my face so I would rather her do it in person than over the phone. She's gonna punch me either way." Harry shrugged casually.
