Chip wasn't the best at the whole 'romance' thing. That's been determined a while ago. He's never really been in a relationship, as a pirate who was constantly on the move, and the only people that he's stuck with is Jay, who is more of a sister figure rather than anything romantic, that are the two constantly pick on each other, so any kind of sincerity between the two is usually passed over by a small insult thrown in along with whatever compliment one said to the other. It was all lighthearted and playful, of course. The other was Gillion. Gillion was a different case to Jay. Same situation, obviously, but Gillion was different in...many ways. First of all, he was from the sea (as as he called it the 'Undersea'). As a result of this, Gillion was a lot more naive than the normal pirate. Gillion was quick to ask for an explanation or elaboration from Chip any time he was confused about something, though Chip didn't mind. Which was weird since he got annoyed whenever he had to elaborate on anything he said for anyone else...Maybe it's just because Gill doesn't know any better. Yeah. Thats it.

Both Chip and Jay had grown close, both knowing the other pretty well. So when Chip started acting strange, Jay knew before Chip even understood what he was feeling or why he was acting strange.
"You're really stupid, you know that? Like...stupid" Jay smirked, taking a sip of her drink, raising a brow at Chip, leaning against the side of the ship as he was sitting on a barrel, just having helped Gillion with something. The brunette sighed and rolled his eyes, looking up at Jay.
"Wh- okay, I'll bite. Oh Jay, whatever do you mean?!" Chip exaggerated his words, chuckling when he got shoved weakly by Jay.
"Shut up. You know what I'm talking about. Y'know, I refuse to third wheel like this until you two figure out emotions." Chip furrowed his brow, confused as to what Jay was talking about. She groaned and spoke again, "Gods- You have a crush on Gill!" She huffed and laughed softly, taking another drink. Chip tensed slightly, heat rushing to his face as he blushed at the accusation.
"Wh- What- I-I,, N-No! No I don't. You're- I-..." He trailed off, considering Jay's words. He slowly sat up, his eyes widening as he slowly lifted his head to look back up at Jay, "Holy shit I have a crush on Gill-"
"Please- I know Chip. I'm here. All of the time. It's very obvious. You're lucky Gillion is oblivious. How long has it been since the Island with Malice? What, a week? Two weeks? Ever since that stupid puzzle room back there you've been all awkward around our local fish boy-" she grinned, poking at Chip's arm teasingly. Chip swatted her hand away, groaning and shaking his head.
"I though I was supposed to the bastard-" Jay shrugged, lifting her hand to feign innocence, then raising a brow again.
"So...you gonna like,,do something about it-"
"Shut up I-I....I have a plan. I always have a plan-" He thought for a second, then stood up, "y-yeah. Yeah no I have a plan. Definitely."

Chip, surprisingly, did not have a plan. He had no plan. No plan at all. And now he was at Gillion's door. No plan. No confidence. A shit ton of anxiety. To be fair, Chip had wanted him and Gillion to talk about what happened back on the island for a while now, but Chip had also at the same time, completely avoided the topic. He took a small deep breath. The plan was...just tell him? He supposed that'd have to do. He's had shittier plans before, and he's still alive so...what could go wrong? Before he was able to knock on the door, it opened.
"O-Oh! Hello, Chip...What....what are you doing standing in front of the door...?" He tilted his head slowly, a small smile on his face from the second he saw Chip, though it was easy to see it was a reaction of his confusion. Chip immediately froze up, just staring at Gillion for a second before snapping himself out of it.
"Ah! Yeah, uh..hah, hey buddy- uh- not buddy, Gill. Sure,," Ah yes, friend-zone yourself to avoid it happening from Gillion, genius. "A-Anyway, uh...I actually wanted to talk to you? I was about to knock but guess you..beat me to it-" A small awkward chuckle left the taller pirate as he rubbed the back of his neck. Gillion looked at Chip for a few seconds longer, then nodding, his smile widening.
"Oh..Well please, come in! I apologise for my reaction, your sudden appearance here surprised me..." Gillion moved to the side, allowing Chip to come in, and he did so.
