//The Fated Campaign..!

Spoilers for Arc 1..!

This takes place around Arc 2, a few nights after Br'aad's bad experience with Hera's drinks in her tavern..!

I had a stressful day and now I'm writing Br'aaxi. This is the way it always should be >:) Also, I know the gardens of a tavern probably wouldn't be that big, but I want them to be,,

So  t h e r e. Big ol' garden that's super pretty. >:)

Also I can't stress how much I care for these characters,, Nula? Literally the coolest deity. Also I can't help but see her as like,, a portable therapist for Taxi,, so ofc I added that kinda thing in this dhedbhjn

TW// none that I know of? If there are any, please lemme know! Other than that it's v much hurt/comfort fluff :D It's also pretty short,, im sorry ;-;

Br'aad wasn't one for sleepless nights and considering this was his third or fourth one, he wasn't thrilled... He was used to sleeping and living in uncomfortable areas, so he found that sleep came quite easy to him. Whenever he didn't get a good nights sleep, he became more irritable and annoyed, something he didn't enjoy being. Especially with everything that's happened. The blonde groaned as he sat up, having been staring at the room's ceiling for around an hour now. He stretched before putting on his green vest, his shoes and his long purple cape, wrapping the cloth around him a lot more as he started to venture out of his room. He made sure to be aware of how loud his steps were, tiptoeing past the doors lining the hall of the upstairs of Hera's tavern.

As he went slowly down the stairs, he looked to see if Hera had turned in for the night, hoping she had so he wouldn't have to explain his sneakiness. Thankfully, it looked like she had. Br'aad had assumed nobody would willingly be up this late, but Hera seemed to be pretty productive, so he wasn't 100% sure she wouldn't be doing something. Feeling a bit of relief from nobody having woken up or having been up already to see him, Br'aad made his way out of the tavern and followed the pathway leading into the tavern's gardens. The last time he'd visited the gardens wasn't the most pleasant, but he'd rather spend his night outside in a calming garden than the streets. Too many bad things could happen, Br'aad was fully aware of how dangerous streets could become when night fell over a town, no matter how nice the place seemed to be.

As he got deeper into the gardens, he felt the tenseness in his chest slowly relax ever so slightly, taking deep breaths as he tried to clear his mind. He didn't necessarily feel like going over what had happened so far on his adventures... He had considered popping in his familiar, Liveclock to keep him company, but quickly dismissed the idea. Not only was it depressing to think about how he'd have to say reassuring things to himself so that Liveclock could say them back to him, but it was also the fact that Liveclock served as a reminder of where his powers came from... who his powers came from...

After a few more minutes of walking around the gardens aimlessly, Br'aad found a small clearing in between the trees and other flora that made up the gardens. He felt himself smile softly at the sight, then spotting a large tree, he went over and sat underneath it, leaning against it tiredly with a slightly shaky sigh.

Taxi was able to sleep. Of course he was, it was just sometimes nature was a better soother to relax the Tabaxi into wanting to sleep in the first place. The day previously had been stressful, and Taxi usually found it easier to relax when surrounded by nature. The sounds of leaves rustling softly from the gentle winds. The smell of grass and the way the moonlight broke through small gaps in between the leaves of the trees. Something about it all was so relaxing... Taxi happily found himself in a tree, smiling absentmindedly to himself as he got more comfortable on the branch he was leaning on, just going to close his eyes before his ears perked up, the sound of quiet footsteps grabbing his attention. Taxi moved from his comfortable position into a more attentive one, looking down to see if he could spot what the noise was coming from. He had already dismissed the thought of some kind of animal. The footsteps sounded too heavy and distracted. As Taxi stayed alert, he watched as the familiar figure of Br'aad passed by. He seemed to be hugging his purple cape closer around him as he walked, not having noticed Taxi at all. Taxi wondered for a second why Br'aad would be up at this hour, then started to become more and more worried as he watched the blonde half-elf pass by. He seemed uncharacteristically reserved. Though that could just be because he's on his own in the gardens... Taxi's curiosity got the better of him as he waited for a few more seconds before getting down quietly from his tree, following after Br'aad to make sure everything was alright.
