//Riptide Campaign !!

I finished my english coursework and since I managed to avoid making references to anyone from JRWI I'm back on my bullshit with JRWI oneshots :')

I'm also re-listening to the Fated Five again because I care them, and I'm making it a rule that I won't watch any new episodes releasing of JRWI Prime Defenders or Riptide so uh- y e a h -

I just enjoy binge-watching things,, and I can't fathom waiting a whole ass week after episode 53 for Riptide,, ;-; so here we are

ANYWAY.

I'LL STOP RAMBLING- SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 52!

*This is my second time rewriting all of this I have never felt so defeated this app hates me I'm gonna have a breakdown-*

TW// I don't think there's any? If there are, please lemme know! ^^

-------

It had been a day or two since the now five pirates had successfully escaped The Block. It hadn't been easy, especially what with Drey's arms being of little to no real use. But they escaped more or less unscathed..! Just like always. Of course, Chip was the first one to feign his confidence, saying he never doubted anything for a moment, and he had complete control of the situation. Jay only grumbled in response to this, having said something amusing enough to make Drey chuckle, which led to Chip shooting a glare towards her. The crew had decided that Drey would stay with them for the time being, the now ex-prisoner having nowhere, in particular, to go, as well as having to have multiple rounds of healing for his arms, so going off on some adventure wouldn't do him much good.

This allowed the three to finally catch up after everything that had happened. With Drey aboard The Albatross - which he himself had agreed was a much better name rather than The Millennium Chipper, much to Chip's distress, Gillion came to realise something. He came to realise how differently his friends seemed to act. Though, of course, this wasn't a bad thing. Quite the opposite. Chip and Jay had always seemed to share this sibling-like energy, the way they would be quick to throw petty and playful insults or small jabs at one another at any opportunity. It was an amusing relationship to see, let alone be a part of from time to time..! With Drey's being on The Albatross, Gillion realised how that sibling-like energy seemed to arise much quicker. Though the reasoning didn't escape him. Gillion knew all too well the ache that came with missing a family member, lost or not. So he could only imagine the relief that came with reuniting with them.

The triton watched from the side mostly, watching how much more boastful Chip had become when telling his versions of the adventures the three had shared. Of course, Jay would interject at Chip's exaggerations, but this didn't seem to deter him from continuing. If he was being honest, Gillion enjoyed most of the exaggerations Chip made, though he'd hesitate to admit it as Chip would see it as 'See Gill?! Some small white lies are fine!".' He wasn't ready for that discourse, so he decided that some things were better kept to himself.

Despite the scene ahead of him, Gillion wasn't completely oblivious. This reunion, as warming as it was, wasn't his to be a part of. This was a moment for his co-captains, and he refused to take away from this moment. But he was alright with this. It made the triton happy simply to know Jay and Chip were happy. That was all that mattered.

And so, after a few minutes of watching the three share adventures and catching up, Gillion excused himself politely down to the lower deck, making his way towards his barrel, staking a seat on top of it once he placed its lid on. Carefully, Gillion unfastened Pretzel's globe from his belt, placing her on top of a crate that was next to his barrel. As soon as Pretzel had been placed onto the crate, Gillion heard a curious purr from her, looking to see a look of curiosity mixed with a hint of worry. Gillion simply smiled. "I am alright, Pretzel. I want to allow Jay and Chip as much time as they need to reconnect and catch up with Drey. Who would I be to take that away from them, hm?" To this Pretzel gave a soft purr in response, seeming to have her concern wash away from her as she gently floated down to the bottom of the globe. She fidgeted for a few seconds before closing her eyes, having decided to have a nap. Gillion gave a soft and fond look, even if the frogtopus wasn't able to catch it. Allowing the comfortable silence to settle around him.
