Chip was pretty damn brave, he was the captain after all, so of course he was brave! He wasn't phased by much, either (except possibly Gillion when he turns into some random anime protagonist in their fights, but that was understandable. The dude lights up like a glow stick). But no, Chip didn't get freaked out or phased by anything at all, nope. However, when the young pirate woke up with a pain in his head and his stomach churning strangely, he wasn't as calm as he maybe would like to say he was. Chip was never good with being unwell, even as a kid back on the Black Rose, he could remember being pretty anxious most of the time whenever he felt ill, but thankfully Arlin was there to look after him.

Now as Chip stayed in bed and let out a small groan from the pain in his head, he slowly felt that same anxiety he was very well acquainted with, and it definitely did not help the feeling in his stomach. As someone who prided himself in always having a plan, Chip had already constructed one to deal with his current situation. He figured that Jay had been on the ship when Chip had been unwell before, so she knew how freaked out he could get, nothing too serious in a way that he'd go into a panic attack, but it helped him feel a bit better if he was around someone as much as they were able to be there for him. So if he got up and told Jay he felt this shitty, maybe she'd be able to help him out..! Good plan Chip, even when you're sick, you're a genius. Chip managed to slowly sit up, needing to wait for the whole room to stop spinning before turning, his bare feet meeting the colder wooden floor of the bottom deck. He put a hand to his head, now noticing that he was sweating, causing him to let out another groan, more so out of annoyance as well as discomfort. After he gained the strength to, he stood himself up, his hand still on his head as he placed his other hand on anything nearby to give him that extra stability. Chip had finally gotten to the door that was one of the few obstacles he'd have to get through to find Jay who was presumably on the top deck, putting his hand on the handle and opening the door to see-

"G-Gill?" Chip furrowed his brows, confused to see the triton standing there. Gillion's eyes lit up as a grin appeared on his face seeing Chip, his enthusiastic expression quickly falling to one of concern.
"Chip..! Are you alright? I-I...I hope I do not offend, as this is not usually the case, but you look terrible." Gillion frowned more, seeing Chip's hand was on his forehead, Gillion raising his own hand and replacing Chip's, feeling how warm he was. "You are...warmer than normal. I do not believe that is a good thing for humans..."
"Y-yeah, no it's not...M'sick, Gill. But it's fine, just-" Before Chip was able to explain what he was doing, he suddenly felt himself get picked up. "U-Uhh Gill what the fuck are you-"
"I will not allow you to move around when you are ill, my dear Chip! You must stay in bed and rest from what I have read and heard of humans..."Gillion then gently placed Chip onto his bed again, laying him down with very slight force and covered him halfway with the blanket, still unsure about his temperature. "I shall tell Jay that you are unwell...! Will you be okay with me leaving for a few seconds?" The seriousness and the immediate concern that washed over Gillion was impressive, honestly. Especially from seeing his expression being so excited changing to the opposite so quickly. Chip sighed softly, nodding slowly and smiling weakly. He would never admit it, but being looked after by Gillion wasn't the worst thing that could happen. Despite how strong he was, Gillion was also incredibly gentle with everything he did in terms of looking after something or someone, it was so endearing, especially when Chip was on the receiving end of that care.
