Gillion felt himself brace for the pain as he slowly closed his eyes, speaking softly as he allowed a solemn smile to grace his features, "I will not let your going back to the navy be my repayment to you, Jay. If this is what you must do, and if this feels right for you. Then I cannot stop you." The weightlessness the triton felt as he stood, stripped of his armour, wasn't alien to him, although the absence of his armour was arguably a bittersweet sensation. Gillion had started to fear that whenever he was forced to don his armour once more after this, he would feel suffocated, the weight of not only the plate, but the weight of this entire interaction haunting him, yet another failure he would regrettably add to his list of many. A wave of silence rested heavily between them all, until the sound of heavy footsteps broke the quietness, causing Gillion to open his eyes once more. He wasn't oblivious to how much of an effort such a small action seemed for him to be, his eyelids heavy. He looked and met the watery eyes of Jay. Stray strands of hair stuck to her cheeks as they were completely tear-stained, newly falling tears only adding. His heart ached at the sight, despising how Jay seemed to tremble and hold back sobs. Gillion watched as Jay slowly raised her bow, the glowing orange embers of her father's arcane powers seeming to have surrounded Jay's entire person.

The redhead shakily held her bow as she readied it, a silver-headed arrow aimed straight for Gillion. She internally screamed to say something, anything. But she feared if she said a single word, her emotions would betray her.

"Do what you must, Jay." Gillion stood bare, nothing to protect him or to deflect the arrow that was aimed for him. Jay remained silent.

Silence sat tense in the air.

The only next noise to break out was the sound of a bow's string being released, the sound of an arrow flying through the air. The pained groan of a friend.

Jay's head immediately fell, refusing to see the damage she had done to Gillion.

Chip screamed for Gillion, rushing to his side as the triton fell to one knee, most of his strength being used to stay in this position, the assistance of Chip keeping a hold of him helping.

"Y-Your choice is your own, Jay, and... sincerely... I hope it was worth it." Gillion's form fell limp as he succumbed to unconsciousness, his blood staining his dark blue sleeveless turtleneck. Chip held his fallen friend securely, looking down at him with a pained expression, before slowly looking to Jay, his once pained expression turning into a look of disgust.

Jay finally met Chip's eyes, her own now flooded with falling tears. The orange that encompassed her vision not obstructing her view of what she had done. What her father had made her do.
