// Fated Campaign :D

Fated Campaign my beloved-

This is a request from Eggoboi34 !! So tysm for the request :D

So first of all, spoilers for Arc 2 of the Fated Campaign..! I think more specifically Arc 2 episodes 9 and 10? So yeah..! :))

The main idea, which I'm unbelievably excited to write, is that instead of everything working out in the end, despite some difficulties, Br'aad gets killed by the beholder rather than dodging it..! :') Also thank god for comments still being able to be looked at this helps me so much ahsddb

This takes off just after Br'aad comes back from talking with the Storyteller..! :D

It's kinda short I'm sorry ;-; I was really fighting for my life to write this idk why-

Also happy Christmas Eve to those who celebrate..! :D  It is 6 in the morning :') I have n o t. slept. :')

TW// Character death ( If there's anything else, please lemme know!! )

-------

Br'aad felt himself let out a groan as he shook his head, trying to regain his composure. Everything was spinning and everything felt wrong, he had no other way of describing it. The transition from where he spoke to the Storyteller seemed so much less sudden than his experience with Ob'nockshai, yet it felt so much more uncomfortable... Looking around him, he saw everyone. They were all okay. As confusion warped the blonde's mind, Br'aad came to the realisation of what had happened - he was back; to before any of them really did anything... The armour was still there, the beholder still at the top of the steps leading to the building in front of the party. As he looked more, Br'aad felt every feeling all at once, seeing Velrisa. Standing. Absolutely fine... The Storyteller really did it. He really saved her.

For a brief moment, Velrisa and Br'aad made eye contact, Velrisa seeming confused as she watched the blonde continue to stare at her as if she was some kind of ghost. Before she was able to mention anything about it, she watched Br'aad start to shout.

"O-Okay! Okay, this thing-!" Br'aad gestured wildly at the beholder, "It shoots fucking beams or lasers- whatever they are- t-they're dangerous..! Don't get hit by them! J-just kill this thing!" And once again, Br'aad gestured wildly at the beholder. As he was talking, Br'aad watched as the party looked amongst themselves faces all showing confusion. Nonetheless, they listened, small gestures of understanding from everyone, causing that lump of fear and anxiety to slowly start to leave his chest. Br'aad ignored the shouts from his friends and his brother, questioning if he was okay, or why he seemed to freak out, every question that was thrown at him that didn't specifically pertain to the fight in front of them wasn't important. Besides, Br'aad knew he couldn't say much anyway. He wouldn't screw this one chance to save people over saying too much.

And so the fight continued as it had originally. Each party member doing the same thing, the only difference being Br'aad's turns, in which he'd do everything he could to get the beholder's attention when he saw Velrisa go to attack it. Each time, a worried expression seemed to cross her features, which was ironic, Br'aad thought, since she was the one he was saving. Watching as Mountain struck at the beholder with Flametongue, Br'aad felt that anxiety well up in his chest again, recognising this moment as being the last thing before Velrisa...

Without thinking, Br'aad ran up at the beholder, taking a stand in front of the tiefling as he pushed her to the side, ensuring she'd be out of the line of fire, watching the beholder's eye-stalk slowly start to glow a menacing hue. As if in slow-motion, the blonde heard shouts coming from all different places, the first being from Sylnan, the next from Taxi, then Mountain and then Velrisa. As he heard Velrisa's screams for Br'aad to move, worry washing over her, Br'aad could only do one thing.
