//Riptide Campaign

is it 4 in the morning rn for me? maybe,, but we're not gonna talk about that ^^;;;

wow what a surprise ;') I swear I'll get around to writing about the other campaigns ;-; I've just been struggling with motivation

Uhhh I mentioned this on my tumblr? But for anyone who knows of the DreamSMP and Charlie's character in that? That's where this idea came from lmao

Uhh Gillion is a fish boy,, so I wanted to do a lil thing where he sees snow for the first time with Jay and Chip?

Again, very inspired by an interaction of Quackity and Slime's character so if you haven't seen any of Quackity's lore (which I highly recommend holy shit-) then there's probably a small spoiler but just for character interactions!

This isn't too long! Not really any ships? Just soft chaos and Chip getting karma at the end? Pretty dialogue-heavy too ^^

TW// very small mention of drugs? (just naming off a drug, still, be careful though!!)

Despite the fact it was morning, it was hard to tell. Chip still always found it difficult to remember that morning is much darker in winter than in summer. The only way the brunette was reminded was the cold quickly wrapping around him as he left his bed, making him shudder before grasping for his blanket again. Winter sucked. Chip firmly believed that winter as a season just shouldn't exist on the seas. He definitely wasn't a winter person. Nothing could change that. In order to protect himself against the cold morning air, he wrapped the blanket around himself, grumbling slightly when he didn't feel much of a difference in temperature. Ignoring his desire to just go back to bed and hide in his blankets until he was warmer, he headed towards the upper deck, going up to see Gillion who had the last watch.

The sky was still dark, though it was definitely morning from the brisk and cold morning air brushing past Chip's face. He glanced towards Gillion and saw him...looking around? Did something happen on his watch? Why was he doing that?

"Gill? What's uh... what's going on, bud?"

The sound of Chip's voice broke Gillion out of his rapid looking around, his focus landing on Chip. He quickly made his way over, his voice filled with obvious confusion as well as excitement.

"Chip..! You're awake! Whilst I was on my watch, I felt something bizarre land on my cheek! I looked around and there was nobody there, however, I kept on feeling it! It was like some kind of apparition...There!" As Gillion exclaimed, Chip also felt something cold land on his forehead. He looked up at the sky once again, now making a note of how cloudy the already dark sky was. Great. Now it would get colder.

"Don't worry Gill, it's nothing dangerous, it's sn-" Chip cut himself off, slowly looking from the sky back to Gillion. Gillion was awfully confused...To the point that he thought the snow that was just beginning to fall was some kind of enemy for him...

"It's called cocaine...! That's what we call it up here, bud! It's just a lot of these falling flakes of cold shit. It only falls in winter, but not all the time." He couldn't fight the grin that was growing as he watched Gillion's expression go from confused to interested and then to this wide-eyed fascination.

"That...That is wonderful..! I have never seen this cocaine before, Chip! I must admit the overseas is much more interesting than I first thought..!" As Gillion spoke, Chip fought back his laughter as Gillion kept on expressing his wonder of the ''cocaine'' falling from the sky. Gods this was going to be a very fun morning. Maybe winter was an okay season.

As time passed, Chip now sat on a barrel still wrapped up in his blanket, was watching a still very excited Gillion now trying to catch the snowflakes that were falling. It wasn't a very heavy snowfall, so Chip doubted that anything would settle on the deck, but this was still a very fun show to watch as Gillion went to extremes to either catch the snow in his hands or with his tongue. As he watched, Chip heard another set of footsteps slowly make their way over to him, turning his head, he saw a very sleepy Jay looking down at him with a raised brow.

"Chip...It's too early for whatever the hell I'm seeing. Why is Gillion playing in the snow like a two-year-old?" Luckily for hip's source of entertainment, Jay was more so grumbling rather than talking normally, so Gillion didn't hear her calling it snow.

"Well for your information, Gill hasn't ever seen the stuff before! So as the good friend and captain that I am, I told him what it was and now he's just having a grand ol'-"

"Jay! You are awake! Come and try to catch the cocaine with me!"

...

...

"Chip-"

"I can explain-"

"Why did Gillion Tidestrider just yell at me to try and catch cocaine with him? While referencing the snow." The gaze that Jay held with Chip was deadly, Chip only taking a few more seconds before breaking.

"I woke up and saw Gillion being...Gillion and I thought it'd be funny to say that snow is actually called cocaine. I've been watching him trying to catch the cocaine for a good thirty minutes? maybe nearing an hour..."

Jay stood there for a second before rolling her eyes and sighing, muttering something probably along the lines of Chip being a bastard again. She made her way over to Gillion and tiredly explained what had happened, refusing to hear Gillion scream about drugs in such an enthusiastic way. After about a minute or so of explaining, Gillion simply nodded, apologising for the misunderstanding.

"S'fine, Gill. You didn't know. It's more Chip- uh,, where are you- Gill?" As Jay spoke, Gillion slowly walked off, now approaching the still seated Chip. "Oh. Yeah no that's fair."

Chip looked up to see Gillion approaching him, groaning quietly as he already started to speak. "Look, I'm sorry Gill. I shouldn't have lied to you and stuff, I just thought it was funny and-"

Gillion didn't miss a beat, grabbing at Chip's blanket and yanking it off of him, causing Chip to yelp (in a very manly way it was a manly yelp) as the winter morning wrapped around him once again. Chip stood up and glared at Gillion.

"Gill this isn't funny give me back the blanket I'm freezing my ass off-" Chip watched as Gillion had a very, very similar grin on his expression. His grip on the blanket only got tighter as he slowly took some steps back. Chip's heart sank.

The tables have turned.

"H-Hah, Gill, c'mon buddy. You don't wanna do this- we can talk this out, right? That's my only blanket please, man-"

As Chip bargained, Jay walked over to Gill, the same smirk on her face too as she was now given the blanket. At this moment, Chip understood what was happening. Some captains would call it mutiny. His crew had officially turned on him...

"If you really want your blanket, asshole, come and get it. You're the entertainment now bitch!" With that, Jay grinned and backed away, tauntingly waving the blanket in front of her. Gillion chuckled and raised a brow at Chip.

"What will you do, Chip?"

"You guys are so unfair to me-"

With that, Chip took off after Jay, the three running about the deck and the ship as a whole, Gillion and Jay against Chip as the three battled for the possession of the blanket.
