T/W: Slight angst, depressive thoughts

xx

Once apon a time, a boy way back in the 1900's use to play in the park with one of his friends. He would sit on the swing for hours, never wanting to go home. Even into the afterlife, it was there, where he continues to stay...

Dan was a lonely 15 year old boy. His only friend being his pet dog since he was home schooled. He, his ma and pa lived far in the countryside in a smallish hotel with two other people, so seeing new people was rare. So it always got lonely.

"Ma...I nearly fell down a well yesterday near the park." Dan said quietly as he stared at his dog.

"Mmm hmm." His mother said, looking through a bunch of gardening catalogues.

"I could of died." Dan pouted, trying to get his mother's attention.

"That's nice dear." His mother said bluntly.

"Ma. Pa said that the graveyard next to the park is buried with kids from the 19th century. Is that true?"

"Don't believe everything your dad tells you." His mother mumbled. "Now go bother him."

"Ma, can I go plant some stuff outside. Cuz you know, you guys are gardeners and never garden?" Dan said in a bored tone.

"It'd pouring out. No." His mother shushed.

"But maaaa!"

"Don't even think about it Daniel James Howell!" She said angrily.

Dan rolled his eyes and left.

He wandered through the spacious house all the way up to his dad's room who was currently working on his computer.

"Pa." Dan said. "Can I plant some stuff outside?"

"What did ma say?"

"Don't even think about it Daniel James Howell!" Dan mimicked in his mother's tone.

"Well then I guess you can't. Go explore upstairs."

"But-"

"Daniel. Don't disturb me i'm working."

Dan turned moodily. He hated his family. He hated being ignored. Dan wondered out of the house, ealking up the stairs with a yellow raincoat draped around his shoulders and head. He walked up the sidesteps of the house upstairs. He didn't get why his parents always encouraged him to visit upstairs and say hello to Mr Bobinski, the guy who lived there. He was creepy. Knocking on it, he decided to leave quickly.

"Daniel!" The man said happily. "Enter, enter."

Dan cautiously entered, taking a seat on his worn out sofa. "H-Hello."

Mr Bobinski was a tall man with a large round belly and a circus like.mustache.

"Say, Daniel. You like stories no?" He asked in a thich Russian accent.

"Yes, very much. Why?"

"Let me tell you one. There was a man who 'vould train circus mice. And one day, he 'vas lookin for them. He saw it, and ran for it, but you see, he put too much energy and the mice...it was on 'ze balcony. So he fell off after losing balance. Very sad sory."
