It was two hours into the 6-hour flight. The air smelled of hospital food mixed with lemon-scented wet napkins. The boy's eyes were droopy and bloodshot, wanting forever for sleep to take him, but the rigid movement of the transport caused him to flinch each time.

It's not like anyone could have noticed. He was visiting his parents in the middle of January, the plane was practically empty and there he say concluded in his own little space with a small notebook to sketch on. However he hid under his blanket every so often, peeking up to see the pitch blackness from everyone before him who seemed to be asleep. He was right at the back, no other passengers before him until 5 rows forward which was a blessing. However at the same time, the brown-haired one felt it as a curse.

There was some sort of calm feeling when someone was near, jolting with the planes sudden actions too. But everyone seemed to be entranced on their little screens right before their eyes, centimetres away as it dug blinding light onto their sight. The sight reminded him slightly of the humans of Wall-E in a way, but couldn't complain as he was the same not too long ago.

Dan finally felt himself crack a small smile when once again before it fading quicker than ever before as the plane hit another rigid movement. He tightened the seatbelt around his waist despite the suffocating feeling wrapping him up.

The only time people saw him was when occasionally someone would walk to the back to use the toilet, but they ignored his existence which he didn't want to admit he liked.

Dan began tapping his fingers on the seat's arm rest, breathing unsteadily as he tried to calm down, not noticing a boy who was clumsily walking down the isle to the toilets.

The boy shot a puzzled look at Dan and Dan's monotone expression played back. That was until another wave of unsteadiness caused the plane to shake.

Dan let out a half-squeak inhumane noise as he hid under the blanket, cursing silently for showing this side in front of this cute boy. Dan quickly shot his head to the left of his side where a closed window sat, pretending to stare at it with curiosity hoping that this boy would look away.

He felt the seat beside him dip, glancing around through the semi-darkness. He shot a questioning look at this person.

This stranger had giant headphones hanging around his neck. He took them off and slid them onto Dan's head who sat completely still in confusion.

"Loud music helps me get over turbulence." The boy replied, pressing play to the music that beamed loudly but not deafeningly loud into Dan's eardrums making it impossible for him to hear the boy beside him.

"Thanks." He smiled, eyes feeling heavier and heart beginning to stop beating to fast in fear.

He distinctly remembered falling asleep clutching a hand, squeezing it whenever the plane would shake and the hand would return it comfortingly. And at last Dan was able to sleep in peace on that flight.
