Deep in the woods sat a small cabin, it was  old but stable and the inside held a rustic homey charm, a charm which  was greatly paired with young male who hummed a light and cheerful tune  as he swayed back in forth in the kitchen a knife in hand as he chopped  up carrots that were freshly grown in his personal garden. The snap of  the carrots and the thump of the knife hitting the chopping board soon  ceased as the man lifted the chopping board covered in a assortment of  fresh vegetables and scrapped them off into a large pot filled with home  made soup. Satisfied the male smiled before wiping his hands on his  apron.

"Now, the pie!"

Just as the man turned to work on  the desert a shrill scream rang through the air making him pause just as  a thump was heard outside his front door. Frantic mumbled words were  yelled past the walls as they desperately tried to reach any ears  willing to listen to its tormented call. Thankfully someone willing to  listen quickly made they're way to the front door with panic and  confusion written on their face.

As soon as the door was opened a  young woman with brown hair flung herself into the warm home and  shortly after into the arms of the gentle man wearing the apron. Blood,  she was covered in blood. Splotches of the crimson liquid stained the  man's clothes as he held the poor woman and let her sob into his chest.

"We,  I- monster!" ah wailed as her grip tightened bunching the man's apron  and shirt in her clenched fist as her wild eyes searched the place for  any threat "We need to call the police! A- thing outside killed my  friends, you need to help me please!"

The man smiled down at the woman making her pause slightly unsettled.

"Of  course, you can use the kitchen phone." despite the woman's instincts  begging her to run she stayed and let the strangely docile man guide her  into the kitchen which was filled with a warm atmosphere and the smell  of fresh food. A drastic contrast to the horrors waiting in the dark  woods beyond the thick wooden door. "Thank you!" the woman cried as she  spotted the rustic looking phone that hung on the wall.

The man  simply nodded before going back to his duties, as the woman looked  around the house she noted how perfect everything looked. Not a single  flaw could be found in the home and it made the woman's skin crawl.

Regardless,  she lifted the cordless phone to her ear and dialed the desired number  "911 What's your emergency?" she released a sigh of relief. It worked. A  shuddered sob left her lips.

"I'm in the wo-" the line cut was cut.

The humming resumed, the front door creaked open and a heavy footstep rang through the cozy home making the woman shudder.

You  gasped a large smile spreading on your face as you set down the rolling  pin. "Jason you're finally here! I wondered when you would return.

The  brunette's face was drained of color, a look of sheer horror and  betrayal etched into the face as she stared at the looming figure of the  'creature' she'd been fleeing.

"Now Jason you need to stop  taking such bad care of your guests! I know I'm your neighbor but what  am I supposed to do, you know I'm not prepared to entertain people  24/7."

The knife was back in your hands and you waved it around threateningly the woman had a feeling the threat wasn't for Jason.

A  wistful sigh left the man's lips and he removed his apron, setting it  on the counter. "You're lucky I wasn't busy Jason or this one would have  gotten more lost. Than you would've never found her."

The woman  didn't have long to live and it seemed as if she knew this as she gave a  half baked chance of escape which ended with her bleeding out on the  once spotless linoleum floor. Jason grunted his thanks as he sat at the  clean table before a bowl of hot soup was placed in front of him.

"Glad to help! After all, what are neighbors for?"
