Yanli scoffed uncharacteristically. She knew that it was petty to be jealous but couldn't ignore the feeling. "A'xian might have believed you but not me. I do feel bad for what you've suffered, if it's true, but that's the extent of it.

However, it's good to know that you are not just a Shijie in name," Lan Xixi retorted swiftly shifting back, preventing Yanli in her attempt

Before Yanli could try again, Healer Fu along with Jiang Cheng, Lan Xichen and Lan Wangji entered the infirmary

Lan Xixi sighed, already feeling tired thinking about all the upcoming discussion she had to have with these people

She placed a soft gentle kiss on Wuxian's forehead and not second later, a blue aura surrounded Wuxian like a shield

"Sect Leader Lan!" Lan Xixi bowed her head in greeting, her body unmoved as Wuxian snuggled closer in her arms

"What have you done to him? Why is he still lying unconscious ..there?" Jiang Cheng yelled, unable to understand why would a respectable senior female Lan disciple would be so... clingy with Wei Wuxian, who was obviously a male in everyone's eye

Lan Xixi stared at Jiang Cheng blankly and then turned to look at Yanli, her expression clearly saying 'Can you shut him up?' to which Yanli only rolled her eyes with a smirk

"Ahem! Lan Xixi, How's Wei gongzi now? And what's this blue layer surrounding him?" Lan Xichen asked with a smile, dispelling the awkwardness in the room while calming his baby brother, who was about to snatch Wei Wuxian away...

"He's fine now, just asleep. This is a sound barrier to avoid any disturbance in his sleep," Lan Xixi answered while combing Wuxian's hair with her fingers

"Then why are you holding him in your arms? You don't have to worry about disturbing his sleep. Lay him down on the bed. Wei Wuxian can sleep soundly just anywhere," Jiang Cheng interjected

Lan Xixi glared at Jiang Cheng and ignored, "I assume you all must be having some questions for me..."

"How did you cure him?" Healer Fu asked first, surprised by Wei Wuxian's quick recovery

"I stabilized his qi with the help of mine"

"What?! Then, how are you still perfectly fine? What about the repercussions of this risky method?" Healer Fu asked, worriedly

"I'm fine, Healer Fu. Please don't worry about me"

"How do you know him?" Lan Wangji asked stoically although his senses were going haywire watching Wei Wuxian sleep peacefully in the arms of Lan Xixi, instead of his own. He felt an unknown emotion burn in his heart, causing Lan Wangji to reconsider his thoughts and feelings towards Wei Wuxian.

"I've known him since childhood, earlier than the Jiangs. We used to survive on the streets, together.

I had lost him before but now that I've found him... I'll not allow anyone or anything to separate us," Lan Xixi declared. There was a distant look in her eyes as if she could see beyond the walls or even, beyond time.
