"How?!" Lan Zhan looked at Youling jie questioningly
"He's a child, Lan er gongzi. He must be confused about the difference between females and males," Youling jie said calmly before looking back at the grumpy baby, "Ayuan, child...can you please tell me who all are males and females among us?"
Ayuan nodded sternly before pointing at Lan Zhan with one hand and his cheek with the other and said, "Yellow eyes gege and Ayuan are males," then he pointed his finger at Youling jie and held his mama's finger with a fond smile, "Red Fairy and my mama are females!"
"..."
"Err...child, isn't your mama wearing boy's clothes? Then how do you know she is a female?!" Youling jie asked feeling at her wits' end
"Because my mama looks like stars! Ayuan likes stars! Mama's eyes are stars! Mama shines when happy! Mama's soft like rabbits! Mama's colour is Ayuan's favourite! Mama has pink no- RED lips! And mama has these like you!" Ayuan pointed at Youling jie's breasts, innocently before hugging Wei Wuxian and resting his head on her bosom with a cute smile on his face when unexpectedly he was lifted up in the air!
"Lan er gongzi?! What are you doing?" Youling jie asked, alarmed, seeing the child stunned and struggling to break free from Lan Zhan's strong grip, "Put the child down! You're scaring him!"
"He...can see her!" Lan Zhan said glaring at Ayuan while holding him away from his Wei Ying
"Yes, I heard that, Lan er gongzi. But you can't behave like this to a child! Put him down I said!" Youling jie scolded, baffled by Lan Zhan's weird behaviour
"He is...touching her. He's a male."
". . . . . Are you serious?! He's a baby! A baby who wants to be close to his mama! Put him down already! Don't test my limited patience, Lan er gongzi. Look! You even made him cry!"
Lan Zhan lowered the crying baby boy back to the ground, reluctantly, who immediately scampered away from him and hugged Wei Wuxian, tightly, pleading with her to wake up soon
"What was that, Lan er gongzi?" Youling jie asked a sulking Lan Zhan
"...How?" Lan Zhan asked feeling puzzled and incompetent in comparison to that little boy who can see the real appearance of his Wei Ying and stay so close to her, effortlessly. His heart started feeling possessive of his Wei Ying's sparkling silver eyes, her bright adorable smile and her sweet captivating voice even more.
Youling jie sighed and said thoughtfully, "I don't know. Besides the immortals, only Wen gongzi can see the real her but that's an exception. My master's illusion is infallible. Unless she tells her secret to someone willingly, no one can see it. And even when she tells them, they'll see her appearance only for a short while before the illusion comes into effect again"
"Wen Qionglin can see her real appearance?" Lan Zhan asked shocked, feeling more distanced from his Wei Ying now and unsurprisingly, he hated this feeling.
"Yes. He's immune to illusion barriers and spells. He has been the only mortal so far who can see her real appearance since she was born."
"Then why-" Lan Zhan stopped speaking abruptly the moment he received Lan Sect's butterfly message.
"What is it?" Youling jie asked frowning seeing the devastated look in Lan er gongzi's eyes
"Cloud Recesses was attacked last night. Someone informed the Wens about Nie's Yin iron in our sacred cave. Uncle, Xiongzhang and Sect Leader Nie are injured. Wen Xu has seized Nie's Yin iron and is now demanding the last piece or else he'll burn down the entire Cloud Recesses," Lan Zhan said as he stood up, grabbed his Bichen and strode towards the door when Youling jie called
