2017

The five Winchester children, Claire, Alex, and Kaia are still waiting by the river while Jody, Donna, and Larissa went to get the others out of the bad place.

Justin and Briar are skipping rocks, or at least attempting to, and Ophelia is standing near them, anxious about them possibly falling off and into the water even though they know how to swim.

Kaia and Claire are sitting in the back of a car and Alex and Patience are sitting at the other car. Athena is sitting on the ground and Libby is leaning against the third car, nervously biting her nails.

"For once you're acting like your dad." Libby looks up at her older cousin.

"What?" Libby asks.

"You're biting your nails." Ophelia says, gently pulling Libby's hand away from her mouth. "That's a Sam trait."

"Whatever." Libby mumbles.

"They'll be okay." Ophelia assures. "Honestly, if we do have to worry about anybody, it is probably Nathan. You're not wrong about dad sacrificing him."

"You know Uncle Dean wouldn't do that. Maybe he isn't Nathan's biggest fan, but he knows it'd hurt you." Libby says.

"We'll get 'em back." Ophelia assures, kissing Libby on the head. "Hey! Hey, hey! Briar! Do not climb in the water!" Ophelia shouts, rushing over to the twins.

Libby watches Ophelia scold Briar before looking over at where Athena is sitting down and drawing in the dirt. Libby walks over to her and gently nudges her with her foot.

"Hey, you." Libby says getting her sister's attention. "You okay?"

"I want daddy." Athena pouts, her sad puppy dog eyes similar to Libby's.

"I know." Libby sighs. "C'mere." She picks Athena up. She sits her on the hood of the car and stands in front of her.

"He's in danger?" Athena asks making Libby sigh.

"Yes... but he'll be okay." Libby says.

"How?" Athena asks.

"Cause he's smart... and daddy is super, super strong. He'll be okay." Libby promises.

"Like a superhero?" Athena asks.

"Exactly like a superhero." Libby smiles. "And Aunt Natty and Uncle De won't let anything happen to him. And your mom will stop at nothing to get him back. Capiche?"

"Capiche." Athena nods. Libby kisses her on the nose.

Sam, Larissa, and Athena dragged Libby out of the bunker to get breakfast with them and all of the others back at the bunker. It's a few days until Halloween, which Sam hates.

"And we can carve a pumpkin and we can watch Hocus Pocus and-and other movies and we can pig out on candy and dress up. We can trick or treating!" Athena grins as they wait for their food and coffee and hot chocolate to come out.

"That sounds great, baby." Larissa smiles, brushing her child's cheek.

"Ellie?" Athena turns to her sister. Ever since she learned her sister's full name was Elizabeth and not Libby, Athena asked her mom for other nickname ideas -- aside from Bess and Bessie, the young girl understanding those two are reserved for Sam and Jessica.

"Yeah, whatever." Libby mutters. "And stop calling me Ellie." She complains.

"But I like it. It kind of sounds of Elsa. I like Elsa." Athena grins.

"Yeah? Well, where are my ice powers?" Libby grumbles.

"Be nice." Sam whispers, poking his older daughter's cheek.

"Daddy, what 'bout you?" Athena asks.

"Uh... you, uh-- you guys have fun." Sam says.

"Why won't you come?" Athena asks.

"Well, Halloween isn't... isn't the greatest thing." Sam says.

"No, but it's the second greatest thing. Christmas is the first." Athena says. "You don't like Halloween?"

"No, baby, not really." Sam says.

"Why not?" Athena frowns.

"Cause he's a dork." Libby comments.

Sam gives her a bitch face and Larissa tries to hide her laugh.

"Really, Lissy?" Sam asks.

"I-- she's not wrong." Larissa giggles and Sam rolls his eyes.

The four are back at the bunker and it's a little later in the day. Libby found a Halloween mask in Nathan's closet and told Athena the plan before helping her little sister wear it.

The two wait behind the door of their parents' room. Libby told Larissa about the plan and Larissa told Sam to meet her in their room.

Sam walks up to his and Larissa's room, but it's empty.

"Lissy?" He calls. He starts to walk in. Libby taps her sister's shoulder, gently nudging her.

"Argh!" Athena yells, jumping out. Sam jumps at the clown mask on his younger daughter's head, his fists clenching. Sam takes a moment as three different giggles fill the room. He puts his hand on his heart, leaning against the dresser.

"Really?" Sam asks.

"I'm sorry, honey. You-- you know we had to." Larissa says through her laugh.

Athena pulls the mask off her head and giggles, grinning up at her dad.

"Whose idea was this?" Sam asks.

"Ellie's!" Athena points to her sister who has a proud grin on her face.

"Of course." Sam mumbles.

"I'm gonna go tell Justin and Briar you got scared." Athena giggles, running out.

"Elizabeth." Sam huffs out a breath.

"What?" She giggles, still enjoying the annoyed look on her dad's face.

"You know, I'm kinda missing when you disliked your sister. Or when she was at least too young to find joy in your twisted ways." Sam says, rubbing his temples.

"Oh, come on. You love us getting along. Which is rare since she's a little annoying rascal most of the time. Besides, it's just some fun." Libby looks up at him with puppy dog eyes.

"You're off the hook this time." Sam mutters making her grin. "But next time you're grounded."

"Mm-hmm. Yeah, sure." Libby waves him off. She pulls him down, kissing him on the cheek before leaving.

"You're the biggest softie on this planet. And completely wrapped around their fingers." Larissa comments.

"I am not." Sam scoffs.

"Sammy, don't lie to yourself. It's not a good look on you." Larissa says, patting her husband's cheek, and then walking out.

"It's not my fault they're so cute." Sam mumbles to himself.
