I halted. I didn’t even realise that we had started moving away from where I found Holden and now we were in some dark hallway. Holden raised an eyebrow and smiled like he had caught me in a game. I started walking.
“I don’t have anything to do with him,” I said quietly, looking straight ahead. Not shunning my head but not looking him directly in the eyes either.
Something in my chest was beginning to throb. Words started to form in my head. Words I remember so vividly.
“You don’ t have to keep everything to yourself, Alice,” He said it so desperately. tI was agonising to see this much pain in someone. Someone you knew you loved. “ I can see all those secrets eating up at you. Forget her. I’m here for you.You know you can tell me.I will always be here for you. You just have to let me in. let me i –“
STOP.
“Well, we’re here,” Holden said.
I looked up to face this metal door towering above me.
“Well,” I looked at Holden for a brief second before turning the doorknob. “I guess your not coming in.”
